Hello folks
We're presently staying at Ellsworth AFB SD. Planning on being here about a week then to Yellowstone National Park.

Anyone's experience pertaining to traveling and camping with a fifth wheel. Routes you took, places you stayed and road/ tunnels to avoid would be appreciated if you could share this with me.
Thanks

I have stayed in West Yellowstone at the Grizzly RV park which is very nice. However, I would call ahead as its gets very busy. There are a couple other parks in West Yellowstone but I have not stayed there but the same message holds true

We completed that trip last year after the Mountain Regional Rally. Stayed at Rafter J Bar Ranch in Hill City (close to where you are now), off to Peter D's in Sheridan Wy and Big Timber KOA MT (both one night stays) before heading to Grizzly RV Park in West Yellowstone. Try to avoid the Bighorn Scenic Byway (HWY 14) as there is a 9-10% grade with twists and turns not complimentary to 5th wheels. Thats the reason we went around to Bozeman and down 191 to West Yellowstone. Road was good and you drive right along the river for several miles. There are a few KOA's west of West Yellowstone as well, but by far Grizzly was nice for location. Just make sure you have bug spray as the mosquitos come out in the evening. Safe Travels

Howdy!

We stayed in Buffalo Crossing RV Park in West Yellowstone last year. Nice clean park and walking distance to most everything in the town of West Yellowstone. Very close to the parks entrance. You definitely need to call ahead for any reservations. We where able to book a week there but only if we moved to a different site during our stay and it was worth it.
Also if you have the time in you trip I recommend some time a Cody, WY. It took me at at least two days just to go through the Buffalo Bill museum. We stay at the Ponderosa RV Park in Cody.

While at the Airforce Academy in Colorado Springs , I saw this on the side of my Landmark just under the kitchen window.
Apparently while at Yellowstone National Park a grizzly bear was being a peeping Tom . Luckily I can buff it out when I get home. I also had four stowaways (mice) Thanks for our cat being on alert.
