Backup Camera

Just purchased 2019 Ford F350 with cameras. Thinking of installing one on the back of my 2018 Bighorn 3670EL. There's a spot designated for one on the back. Wondering if the trailer is pre-wired or do I need to go wireless?

I did both.

The Heartland factory pre wired "Power wire only" and it is for the Furrion wireless camera sys. Some have dumped there power wire and wired it to the marker lights, that way they can turn the camera on and off from the cab.

I also did the Ford factory system. It was quite a task running the wire harness all the way back to the top rear of the RV, but I would do it all over again on the next one.

I just found this device to unlock the ford camera system, so you can view any camera any time moving or not, and remembers last setting. It also gives you turn signal cameras. I will be putting it on the new truck.

Hey All,

New to the forum and just bought our first travel trailer (a Sundance 291Qb) after trading in a class C that was too small. One of the first things I did was to purchase the Furrion rear camera that the trailer was prewired for. After checking Amazon and thinking I was going to have to pay almost $400 for the camera, I came across a site that had the exact same camera for $250. I thought it might be a scam but found another forum where the site had proved legitimate so I ordered and received the camera within a week. Installed in minutes and it works great! Just wanted to pass along the link for anyone looking to save some $$$ on a nice accessory. Here's the link... https://www.forestriverelectronics.com/product-p/fos43tasf.htm

Look forward to learning a lot from what looks like a great forum for someone new to the Heartland group.
