Best WiFi booster??

Hello all,
I am looking to increase our wifi reception and reliability. We full time RV and for the most part have had pretty good luck with RV park wifi, however there are times where the signal is very weak and slow. In the near future we would like to do more remote locations, so I assume we can expect bigger challanges with connectivity. Another concern is a secure connection, I know public wifi is not very secure.

Does anyone have advice or recommendations on current products that do a good job of boosting, extending and securing public wifi?

For security....sign up and use a VPN. Here is a link to some review of top VPN services in 2019

For WiFi....our WiFiRanger is the best! I can pull in over 40 channels where my phone only sees 8. Super easy setup and I can combine the campgrounds WiFi with my Hotspot (cell) to increase my overall speed.

We use a WeBoost to connect to a cellular towers and a HooToo for a router to connect the computer to the internet through the phone. We have unlimited data. The HooToo is set up for 128 bit encryption.

WeBoost

@forbesclan -- While I have a WeBoost and it works great....just note that it is for boosting Cellular, not WiFi.

Does the WeBoost act as the wifi hotspot or or does it just boost the signal of your phone/wifi hot spot?
What cellular service do you use with it?

My husband and I are in the process of getting TOGO, its a WiFi unit that you can get unlimited WIFI through ATT and it also is an extender. You can check them out on YouTube and Amazon has them. Good luck.

Yes, but I always use my cell phone for WiFi with unlimited data. Never had a problem with internet doing this yet. If I do, I will look into the WiFiRanger.

I have the TOGO and like it. I used to use the Weboost but was not happy with it compared to the cost. I bout the higher power one and at the recommendation of Weboost I bought a omni directional antenna that helped a bit. It worked ok but not being able to use MIMO is where it is lacking. Where it does best is is you have a weak signal, it will make it "usable" but you are not going to be streaming very good video. It was fine for email and general surfing. I then got in the unlimited hot spot from Verizon and have been happy with that. I use a cheap MIMO antena that I can put in a window that has the best signal. I need a backup for my situation so I decided to try the TOGO since after the initial hardware cost the yearly is cheap considering what you get. I have not mounted it to the RV yet but have used it just sitting on the picnic table and now that the season is over I use it at my house for testing. If I can find a way to use it at home and ditch the cable I will save some cash. I use it with a PEPWAVE router instead of the built in router. The only thing lacking in the TOGO is an onboard NIC port.
