Slide tilting

Hi, we have the Mallard M335. I would love some feedback on the slides. Our living room slide containing the recliners and table and chairs is tilting down. It's a very wide slide. You can feel and see the tilt. Also, looking at it from the outside, it appears somewhat buckled. Hard to describe. We had a leak on it which we fixed and added slide awnings. Not sure that is related. I just need some advice on if this slide is safe. Thank you.

Hi Hollanders,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

Looking at the top of the slide from outside, there should be a little slant down for water to run off outside rather than inside. If you have more than a little, the slide may need to be adjusted. Have you discussed with your selling dealer?

You can also tell if it's out of line by checking the seals behind the fascia trim inside. If you stick your fingers back there under the seal, you should easily tell if there is more gap at the top than the bottom (or vice versa). Even visually, you may see it.

If you are still under warranty, you can with prior approval from Heartland, use a RV independent repair business.

Take some pictures and e-mail them to a Heartland Service representative that you call on the phone. You may want to include rulers or measuring tapes in the background to indicate the amount of tilt. As to WHERE to have it repaired if there is decided that there is a problem, try checking out RVServicereviews.com.
