fault light

Good day. I have a 2019 cyclone and have been enjoying it for about 4 months. The fault light in the control panel has always come on whenever hot water is used. Doesn't matter if the system is on electric or propane. The unit provides great hot water providing I turn the power or propane off and back on. Dometic does not think its the circuit board.
thank in advance.

Hi Terry,

Is this an Atwood water heater? On Atwood units, the control board operates both the propane side and the 120V AC side. When there a failure on both modes, the control board is the most likely cause.

But if you have the propane switch ON, and the electric switch is also ON, you may just be heating the water with the electric element and seeing a propane ignition error.

Turn the electric side off and see what happens. You probably will see the fault light and won't get hot water.

A propane fault light is most often caused by poor propane flow. Is the furnace working ok? If it is, and the water heater isn't, you may have some other ignition problem triggering the fault light.
