Parks in texas

Good evening, Our Names are Neil and Jaymie Brunskill wanted to introduce ourselves. We are new owners and are anxious to use our rig soon. Does anyone know of or have any info on when sites will begin to open up. We love it up on the Guadalupe river. We have reached out to Lazy L and L but get no answer. Looking for a spot to spend a few days and go on an inaugural trip.

Thanks:cool:

HI Abundant-Life,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum.

Some of our Texas members may be able to shed light on opening dates.

The State parks just opened for day use only and the COE parks aren't open either as of now. There are lots of RV parks that are open in the hill country if you want to pay a little more. A group of us are getting ready to spend a couple of weeks in the Hill country now and had no problem looking at our different options. However, they are all practicing social distancing but that is to be expected. I do believe the SP's will open in the near future.
BTW, welcome to the forum and let us know what rig you bought. Later and have a great day.

A good fun first trip would be to Fredericksburg, TX in the Hill Country. Plenty to do with the shops, german food, and WWII Museums. The Pacific War Museum is one of the best I've been to and I've been to a bunch. It will take 2 days to go through it. Several good RV parks around the area. Check the website for Luchenbach and see who's playing. Very interesting place. The KOA is right next to the road that goes up to Luchenbach. Have fun....

Welcome to the forum. Right now we are sitting in the Texas Hill country at Medina Lake in the Thousand Trails park. They opened this park for reservations starting May 1st. We were told by the Ranger Station here they have over 60 reservations for May 1st coming in. So that morning they will probably be a traffic jam of all of us needing to leave.

Second to the Pacific War Museum, the Memorial Courtyard is great. If you read each plaque it would take you a couple of days. There is a piece of the USS Arizona in the museum. When we come back in the fall we are going back to it again.

Where are you in Texas? We discovered many state parks in Oklahoma are allowing RVs, with some restrictions (practice social distancing, some buildings closed). We are planning a trip for Memorial Day weekend.
