Our 5th wheel, a 2011 Sundance 2900 MK, has been stored for 6 months this winter, and upon picking it up, we found that all of our cabinet doors have expanded at the joints; 3 of them have expanded to the point where up to 1/2 gap, causing damage to the wood and bending the doors. Some of the doors could be pressed back together, but 2 of the doors and the fridge front panelling will have to be replaced.
Our questions are:
1-What can be done about this problem?
2- How do we stop this happening again?
FYI - the trailer was store with two DrizAir containers and was checked every 2 months and crystals replaced when necessary. We also had 2 vents open as per the storage facility`s recommendation.
When speaking to the storage facility owners, they shared with us that they thought it was a strange occurrence, as they hadn`t heard of any other trailer owners having this problem (and they store over 100 trailers there).
Also curious to know if this has happened to other owners? We do have high humidity here in BC, but it doesn`t get very cold.
Looking forward to your reply,
Mike and Lise
