Road Warrior - Front Landing Stabilizers will not move

Went to hook up and the front landing stabalizers will not go up. The switch on the outside seems to be dead. We were told that we could manually move them by using a 1/4" hex and a drill on the leveling tube. We did that and nothing moves. We cannot even hook up to take it to the shop. Are we doing something wrong? Any suggestions?

Hi Rochell,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

First, do the lights in the trailer work, does everything that is on 12v work? Have you looked for and reset the circuit breaker in the 12 volt wiring where it comes off the battery or checked the wiring for an inline fuse? You may need to feel the sides of the little circuit breakers that have the red covers over them to find the little button to reset the breaker.

Also you need to post your model and year of the unit.

I'm sure some others will jump in soon with more suggestions.

Probably has a 30 amp inline fuse. Usually it's located somewhere in an area behind the battery off by itself. Most likely in a pink wire. If you run the legs up too far and hit the stops welded to them it will blow the fuse...Don

I assume that you do not hear the motor running when you push the button. if this the case check for ( trace the wires back from the switch ) a tripped inline breaker or blown fuse - also these inline breakers can be auto or manual reset.

if you hear the motor then the manual will not work - it is most likely a shear pin or a lost bolt. check to see if the rod that goes from the motor to the opposite side is rotating. but where both sides are not moving is sounds like either a breaker or a disconnect at the motor side.

to get from where you are - hook up to the trailer and then jack the *** end of the truck up until you have play in the landing gear - pull the pins and move them up as high as they can go - as long as they are as high as the axles you can drive to an rv shop for repair.

Depending on the model and year, the hydraulics that run the landing gear (if your model has hydraulics on the front) are shared with the slides. Do your slides still work?

You have been given some good advice.
But as mentioned, it all depends on what year your rig is. Hydraulic or electric landing gear.
I would look for the inline fuse that Don mentioned or the resetable breaker.
Do you have a battery cut off switch? Is it on?

Peace
