The Atwood/Kiddie CO detector that came with our 2010 North Trail has gone bad so we have been looked at replacements. The ones found at RV stores/dealerships are in the $80-$110 range but the ones found at home improvement stores are $20-$30. Can anyone tell me why the RV specific ones are so much more expensive? Do they have special features that are different than household models? We need a battery operated model and not one that is hard wired. We would like to replace the current one with one that has a similar hole pattern to avoid open holes on the wall but most of the new models are a rectangle shape .
