New Mexico Chapter Leaders-retired
Hello All!
Shelley and I just returned from a glorious 5 days in Ruidoso, NM! We've been out scouting RV resorts for a possible site for our 2017 Spring Rally and we've found some jewels!
Please chime in and let us know what you think about Ruidoso as the location for a Spring Rally. We are thinking of a time frame of sometime during the first 2 weeks of May, 2017 (if that fits in the HOC plans and with YOUR plans!). The reason for those dates in Ruidoso is that the third week of May is BIKE WEEK and of course the 4th week is Memorial Day. We really would appreciate your feedback/suggestions on what you think of the location, time frame and activities.
Some events we are thinking of are:
1) First night (Thursday): Mexican Pile-On provided by your Chapter Leaders for a nice, easy meal for the Meet & Greet, followed by games (Mexican Train, Golf card game, etc.)
2) 2nd night (Friday).....: Caravan to Dinner at the Inn of the Mountain Gods "Gathering of the Nations Buffet" (http://innofthemountaingods.com/dining/gathering-of-nations-buffet/). Friday night is the Seafood Special (Seniors 55 and older $20.99, non-seniors is $24.99). Followed by free time at the Casino or see a show at Club 49 in the Casino (http://innofthemountaingods.com/entertainment/club-49/).
*NOTE* If you want to do the buffet on Saturday, it is not a seafood buffet (regular buffet) and the price is $16.99 Seniors/$18.99 non-seniors. If this is the consensus, we'll swap Saturday night activities to Friday and move the buffet outing to Saturday.
3) 3rd night (Saturday)..: Potluck dinner/desserts followed by Dance and Karaoke with music provided by DJ at the RV park meeting room. We'll play "Steal-A-Gift" and have a prize drawing, as well as a 50-50 raffle (proceeds split evenly between the winner and your NM club to help pay for future events).
4) Sunday - Depart for home or next destination
We are excited and look forward to keeping our New Mexico chapter growing and having fun!
Please chime in with your feedback and suggestions!
Blessings,
Howard & Shelley
