Yes its pretty common. We replaced our stock recliners with best brand home furnishings in our big horn. They make a line of smaller furniture that fits perfect in RV's. We replaced the couch as well, and got rid of that fold out bed contraption.
And now in our landmark, we bought some lazy boy chairs, to replace the OEM theater seating. That pleather (plastic-leather) material is just not made to wear very long. Under that pleather, our furniture was made with mostly rough cut OSB plywood, so it wasnt worth trying to repair in my mind anyway. We just junked the stuff.
