Any one of the big three. Go test drive and see what fits you best. They all have DEF, emissions, and are expensive. They all have crappy warranty issues and marginal customer service. My advice is to find a dealer that will treat you right and go with it. That being said, I have used all...
I may be late to the show, but FWIW, we had two hauling trucks for our Cutting Horse and cattle business. They were always hooked up to a Goosneck weighing no less than 10k on any given day. A 2015 Ford 6.7 F350 and a 2015 GMC 3500HD with the Duramax. The GMC NEVER needed anything but an oil...
What mods have you done Sniper? Also, regarding the 7.3 and friendly knowledge, Ford Truck Enthusiast is a great forum to be a part of. Very knowledgeable and friendly guys over there. My handle is the same over there as here.
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the consensus is to not touch it myself. Thanks! I thought maybe an electric one was just roll out, replace, and roll up. It sounds much more complicated than that.
Huh? Punctuation would help this post be a lot more readable. My post wasn't directed at any one person, but ok let's talk. First, if you are watching temps directly out of the manifold, turbo would not be a concern because those temps are before the turbo so you actually can monitor two...
On any engine, at any time, 1300 is max and you don't want to keep it there for more than 30-45 seconds. Also, it matters where the probe is installed. It needs to be installed in the manifold, NOT in the turbo downpipe as some people do. Those temp differences will be 2-300 degrees. These...
Nice! That's a truck that has been well used. I had the LLY a few years back and wish I had kept it, but life happens and it had to go. It was a ZF-6 as well and was a really good truck. I am glad to hear you haven't had too much of an injector problem. I know the LB7 was notorious for that. My...
I am always a lot more impressed with the guy that pulls into the park with a tow rig that's over 100k and looks/runs showroom new than the brand new $70k tow rig that just got traded in for the previous truck less than 2 years old. There is just no reason for it, but alright. My neighbor trades...
Now this is how any diesel should be maintained and driven. I would hold onto to this truck since it has no emissions stuff on it. Letting it idle is paramount to longevity. After staying in RV parks off and on for the last 10 years, the one thing I HATE to see is a new neighbor pull in and shut...
Man, all you guys with your low mileage diesel trucks. What's the point when they are $60k plus? 237,000 here and tows our Sundance like a monster. I don't deal with emissions crap either. 170,000 is barely breaking it in as long as it has been maintained well.
With the temps up in that area, it's not even a concern. You can use PS in the white bottle if you are really worried about it, but the winter blend will already be effective enough. Just keep trucking on!
