    Shower pan leak

I have a reasonably fresh bead of silicone on the surround at the pan but I'll recheck it today. I had set a towel against the pan and the upper part of the towel was dry while the part against the floor was wet, but only if you waited several minutes after the shower. Thats what made me think...

    Shower pan leak

I am afraid I have a leak below the shower pan in my 3400rl. I do get some water from the bottom of the door but the floor alongside the shower gets wet right in the hall at the laundry opening. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to access the area under the shower. My guess right now is that...

    Prefered Method for Tire Changing:

I carry 2 6 ton jacks just because I picked up the second one at a garage sale. Found the best way is to jack under the axle at the spring mount point. Quick and easy and I don't need a ton of blocking. I think I've changed more than my share of flats. Bill

New Landmark owner - water leak in basement...

As an added check, while you have the panel off to access the bypass and winterizing valves, check the connections there plus the connections on the water heater. Mine had worked loose on a trip last fall and dumped alot of water in the underbelly. Bill

    wet underbelly

refer to my other post re "trip problems" The fix to the slide awning was simple. New end cap and bracket. Service manager says looks like something clipped and bent the anti furling device which then jammed the bracket when I opened the slide. However, I have a question regarding...

    Trip problems

Well, had a real nice couple of weeks at Myrtle Beach, good fishing in the surf and some golf with friends in MB Travel Park. Did have some problems though. While at the park, noted some water dipping from the bottom. Chased it back and found the inlet fitting at the water heater had...

    3055RL and batteries...

Replaced a single 12 with 2 sixes. Made a plywood box for the batteries and reused the existing vent. Bill

Winter Storage and a few other questions.

If you intend to run the fridge while there, you will need to level the trailer. It's also a lot easier to load the trailer while its close to level. As far as draining, make certain you use plenty of water when flushing the toilet. when you empty the black tank the volume of water will help...

    Retired Law Enforcement

The intention of 218 was great but the practical is not. Here in NY, (I know) ******************* very few agencies are offering qualifications for the retired guys. It appears at this time that my agency has no intention of ever providing qualification time for the retired guys. Bill

Preparing water tank and lines for storage?

Our prep is pure winterization. Drain tanks and lines and fill lines with antifreeze. Normal midwinter startup (read heading to Florida) entails flushing the lines with a shot of bleach to sanitize. Bill

    Cleaning your rig

we've had the same problem in Florida. However they do permit a mobile wash service to come into the park and wash your rig. Since we hit a snowstorm on the way out of NY last year, we used him with very good results. Total wash including the roof and very reasonable priced. Bill

Cover or not cover for the winter?

Years ago, with another brand of fifth, I got concerned about snow load as we had sosme storms and the trailer sat with over 4 foot of snow on the roof. Their engineer told me that the only concern would be snow melt into the ac units. I have since applied that rule to all my rigs and keep the...

    Our favorite Adirondack Mtn park

OK, I'll confess. The park is Eagle Point on Schroon Lake, listed under Pottersville, NY. The site is listed for 20 foot and that's 37 foot on it. What you can't see is that the off side wheels are dug in about 6 inches to get us level. We stay there with several other families (9) and usually...

    Our favorite Adirondack Mtn park

Guys and Gals, We picked up our Bighorn on a Thursday and left on our annual trip on Sunday. This is a state park and this site is only rateed for a trailer much shorter than ours, but as you see, it fits OK. Bill

    door security

We've been rving for many years and locking the door is the absolute least of my worries. In the parks we've stayed at, the neighbors are always friendly. We usually don't even bother locking up when we go out. Bill
