TandT, I agree 100%. Why is it that the caulking they used needs to be checked so frequently? I understand I wouldn't by my unit if it cost 100K so they need to keep the cost down, but if I knew how they kept the cost down I wouldn't own it at all. I have a freind who has a Aruba (2005) model...
I am having delaminating issues with my 2010 Elk Ridge. Heartland said it's because I didn't properly caulk the windows every few months to prevent the water damage. I contacted the window manufacturer and they told me they did not recommend caulking the windows as they had a rubber gasket that...
Got it this time. Thanks for the information. I thought those were simply buss bars that are commonly used to connect wires. I would have never guessed they were breakers. I guess the breaker will have an amp rating on it that I can test to see if the battery is drawing too much power or if the...
Thanks for the reply. The battery is about 10 feet away from the breakers and fuses. I will trace the wire back from the battery and find the breaker for the converter. This is the second time it has tripped, but it's only the second time I have checked it also. The link you added for the...
I am having the issue with my 2010 Elk Ridge also. I am not getting voltage from the converter to charge the batteries. I had the unit in the shop about a month ago and they said they had to remove the battery to reset the breaker. I looked at the battery and I can see the entire wire to where...
If heat and humidity caused the delamination it can't possibly be your fault. And if you had to recaulk an area 2-3 times in a couple of years something is terribly wrong.
I've had a few different areas de-laminate on my 2010 Elk Ridge. I was told it was because I did not do proper maintenance and re-seal the caulk joints. Of course they could tell this over the phone.
My local service center did send Heartland an e-mail stating what I told you. Still nothing. That's O.K. I am the customer. They will never get any more of my money! I am getting ready to buy a new camper and I assure you it won't be a Heartland. I can and will repair the damage that has...
I always looked after my camper. If there were bad caulking areas I would have noticed them. Besides I have contacted the window manufacturer and they told me those windows did not need to be caulked if they were properly installed. My windows have rubber gaskets around them and somewhere around...
I have a 2010 Eagle Ridge that has many bubbles in the laminated siding. After contacting Heartland all I get is a very generic "improper maintenance no coverage" They actually told me it should be re-caulked every year. I may be trading it for a smaller Aruba fifth wheel that is 5 years older...
we have a 2010 eagle ridge mod. 35dsrl. VIN-5SFSG3825AE205665. What brand of windows were installed in the unit and maybe even a model number? How about an installation guide also. Thanks
My Eagle Ridge had the same problem. I tried everything and had exactly the same issues and tried the same solutions as everyone else here. I had the entire frame and door assembly for the storage/udc area removed and re-sealed properly. I have not had an issue since. There was no visible signs...
Thanks for the info. I think I'll try and glue in a hardwood dowel and re-try the lag bolts. I'll also have to waterproof the openings that were drilled through the fiberglass coating so the wood doesn't get wet and swell.
