    Heartland Customer Service?????

TandT, I agree 100%. Why is it that the caulking they used needs to be checked so frequently? I understand I wouldn't by my unit if it cost 100K so they need to keep the cost down, but if I knew how they kept the cost down I wouldn't own it at all. I have a freind who has a Aruba (2005) model...

    Heartland Customer Service?????

I am having delaminating issues with my 2010 Elk Ridge. Heartland said it's because I didn't properly caulk the windows every few months to prevent the water damage. I contacted the window manufacturer and they told me they did not recommend caulking the windows as they had a rubber gasket that...

    Batteries not charging

Got it this time. Thanks for the information. I thought those were simply buss bars that are commonly used to connect wires. I would have never guessed they were breakers. I guess the breaker will have an amp rating on it that I can test to see if the battery is drawing too much power or if the...

    Batteries not charging

Thanks for the reply. The battery is about 10 feet away from the breakers and fuses. I will trace the wire back from the battery and find the breaker for the converter. This is the second time it has tripped, but it's only the second time I have checked it also. The link you added for the...

    Batteries not charging

I am having the issue with my 2010 Elk Ridge also. I am not getting voltage from the converter to charge the batteries. I had the unit in the shop about a month ago and they said they had to remove the battery to reset the breaker. I looked at the battery and I can see the entire wire to where...

Fiberglass forming bubbles down the wall on slideout and upper area of the exterior wall

If heat and humidity caused the delamination it can't possibly be your fault. And if you had to recaulk an area 2-3 times in a couple of years something is terribly wrong.

Fiberglass forming bubbles down the wall on slideout and upper area of the exterior wall

I've had a few different areas de-laminate on my 2010 Elk Ridge. I was told it was because I did not do proper maintenance and re-seal the caulk joints. Of course they could tell this over the phone.

Heartland Customer Service Disappointment - fading Greystone caps

My local service center did send Heartland an e-mail stating what I told you. Still nothing. That's O.K. I am the customer. They will never get any more of my money! I am getting ready to buy a new camper and I assure you it won't be a Heartland. I can and will repair the damage that has...

Heartland Customer Service Disappointment - fading Greystone caps

I always looked after my camper. If there were bad caulking areas I would have noticed them. Besides I have contacted the window manufacturer and they told me those windows did not need to be caulked if they were properly installed. My windows have rubber gaskets around them and somewhere around...

Heartland Customer Service Disappointment - fading Greystone caps

I have a 2010 Eagle Ridge that has many bubbles in the laminated siding. After contacting Heartland all I get is a very generic "improper maintenance no coverage" They actually told me it should be re-caulked every year. I may be trading it for a smaller Aruba fifth wheel that is 5 years older...

Constant Dampness in the storage bin by the UDC.

My Eagle Ridge had the same problem. I tried everything and had exactly the same issues and tried the same solutions as everyone else here. I had the entire frame and door assembly for the storage/udc area removed and re-sealed properly. I have not had an issue since. There was no visible signs...

ATF: ElkRidge - Awning bracket bent again

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try and glue in a hardwood dowel and re-try the lag bolts. I'll also have to waterproof the openings that were drilled through the fiberglass coating so the wood doesn't get wet and swell.

ATF: ElkRidge - Awning bracket bent again

Ray, and danemayer thanks for the posts. Ray, you got it correct. The upper arm was binding when it was supposed to be loose. Now the question is what is the best repair for the stripped out holes the lag bols were screwed into. The dealer I took it to for bolt the bracket to the aluminum, and...

ATF: ElkRidge - Awning bracket bent again

I have a Sunchaser II by Dometic according to the paperwork I received with the camper. It features new sunchaser II 8275000 Series hardware. I need an installation manual to see why this thing keeps bending the bracket. My guess is that it was not installed correctly (misaligned). I don't mind...

ATF: ElkRidge - Awning bracket bent again

My right side awning bracket is bent again. The dealer said he replaced the bracket last month and the first time I opened it to clean it the new bracket bent up exactly like the old one. I did notice that the arms would not line up correctly when the awning was retracted so I am thinking it...

    Generator polarity?

Thats what baffled me. No error indicated on the refrigerator. It was running on gas so I thought the 120v had nothing to do with it. But I can tell you I have never had any issues with the refrigerator before. Also after I connected the extension cord we keep it plugged into it worked fine. I...

    Generator polarity?

Thanks for the reply. Even with the generator running I still had the refrigerator on gas because it always has cooled better on gas than electric. I'll try it again tomorrow, but it just seemed odd that it was struggling while on the generator and then seemed to run much better when hooked to...

    Generator polarity?

    Solar sizing

Thanks for the quick replies. I guess the thing to do is add up all the loads, and then size the panel and controller. And then see about reducing the load with the led lights. When you look at what they are you really see how innefficient they are.

Thanks for the reply. We went through that park when we were visiting last summer and it lookeed very nice. Some others in the area were kind of nasty. We stayed with some friends in Bloomsburg and went to Knoebels and the LLWS in Williamsport. Great experience. What other sights would you...

We went to Knoebels this summer and the kids and I loved it. We looked at a couple of campgrounds near there and were wondering if anyone here had any advice. The one we initially liked was J and D I believe. Does anyone have any preferences in the area? It will be for next year. It was in...

    Delaminating under slide

Mine is coming apart at the innermost end of the slide. I noticed it when I spotted the dirt mark made on the carpet inside the camper from the bare wood sliding against the carpet. I will try and run the slide in a bit to see if I can easily get to the inside part of the bottom of the slide...

On our 35DSRL I just noticed that under the slide the bottom cover is coming apart. It looks like the plyboard that had some type of coating on it has lost the coating. Inadequate A/C

I made the same modification to mine and it does help the airflow. It does not however increase the BTU output of the AC. That modification worked very nicely, and will probably solve some of the AC problems. But if the issue is not enough BTU's then it really isn't solving anything.
