Winterizing ice maker on our new Samsung RF18

I have the same fridge. When I have winterized I first run antifreeze throughout all the other lines with water feed valve to ice maker closed. I then open the valve and let the antifreeze work it's way to the ice maker. Usually after three or four cycles I get pink ice. I disconnect antifreeze...

    EZ Snap shades

I installed the EZ Snap system while in Florida this past winter. Put the screens on the south facing door side large windows and the west facing rear window. They made a significant difference. Went from using both A/C units in 90+ degree temps to primarily getting by with a single unit...

    12v Trailer Breakaway Switch

Yesterday, after a refueling stop the display on my '11 F350 showed "Trailer Wiring Fault". The 5er was connected as evidenced by all lights working. The truck manual indicates this fault is related to brake wiring and could indicate a number of possibilities. I first checked to see if I had...

    icemaker Line leak

My leak was in the tubing after it exited the belly and ran outside under the slide. The quick fix was to cut out the leak and using sharkbites spliced in a good piece of tube. For longer term piece of mind going the steel corded route is best.

    Frame Flex Again

Heartland and Lippert repaired my frame flex issue summer of '15 at Heartland's new service location. They did an excellent job and also within the time frame stated with my only cost being getting the rig there and my accommodation costs for the five days they had it. The caulking along the...

07 ram 2500 diesel, is it enough truck for big country 3650rl

My suggestion would be to get your unit weighed (configured for normal travel), focusing on Pin weight. My 2013 3650rl configured with the Onan gennie in the front compartment, and front closet full of clothes, and basement loaded with bbq, chairs, etc came in at 4030lbs pin weight which would...

Which Residential Fridge Did You Get

Three may well be enough. I went with four Group 29's as I had the room. What I discovered during our many one or two night boondocks is you may be using more battery power than you think. If you want to put two or all six of your hydraulic feet down that will use capacity. If you want to put...

Which Residential Fridge Did You Get

I replaced my Nevercold with the Samsung RF18. Removed the drawer below the old unit, added a piece of plywood on the bottom and the new one slid right in. The small gap left at the top was covered with a wood vent grill for ventilation. I added a Samlex 2000 invertor and additional batteries...

    Black tank flush vacuum breaker

I have gone through three of these in the last six months. Each failure has resulted in wet carpet in the basement. I would prefer not to go through this again. Is it ok to replace the vacuum breaker with a normal check valve? If not, why not?

Front hydraulic legs don't extend. Retraction wasn't so smooth. Can't locate the breaker or opening for crank

I had similar symptoms as I headed south this fall. I initially ignored it but at our next overnight stop the front legs extended part way then stopped They would not extend further or retract. Investigation determined it was the hydraulic system solenoid. Was able to retract front legs using...

Generator voltage increases when load applied.

Here is example. Genni output voltage with no load is 120V. With load applied eg. Microwave, voltage output increases to 123V. - - - Updated - - - Trusty AC meter works as expected when on shore power showing decrease in voltage when load applied. When on gennie power meter shows increase in...

Generator voltage increases when load applied.

Thanks for the input. I have the manual. There are no fault codes flashing. When load applied the voltage will increase for the duration of the applied load. Base voltage (no load) can range from 105V to 120V depending on quality of shore power. Increase in voltage will be 2-6V over base...

Generator voltage increases when load applied.

Voltage increases 2-6V when single appliance load applied which is usual decrease. No faults indicated on gennie display.

Generator voltage increases when load applied.

I have the built in Onan 5500 gennie. It has worked flawlessly for five years. Hours are fairly low at less than 100. I have a Camco AC meter which I leave plugged in all the time. This helps me know when shore voltage is weak especially when using 30A service in some parks. Typically voltage...

    Residential fridge upgrade?

We changed out our Nevercold for a Samsung RF18 two years ago and love it. It is a counter depth unit and was straight forward to install, Lost the drawer below the original unit but the additional cubic feet and consistent temps was worth it.

Hans, I will be in Myrtle Beach in about a week and set up for a couple of weeks before moving on to Florida. I will take some additional photos then. Bracing for awning

Hans, here are a couple of pics showing what I have done to support the awning of our BC while staying for longer periods in one spot.
