Any Heartland sightings? A lot of water under that bridge

Its funny now, thinking back. We've had our Bighorn now for about 10 years now, way before you could get one at any Circle K. We were heading up interstate 5 north of LA somewhere, and in the south bound lane, we spotted a Bighorn, they spotted us, and we both waved. It gave me goosebumps...

    New sensors vs new system?

After hearing from Pat McFall, it was suggested I contact Pressure Pro directly. Turns out replacement cost is only 35.00 per sensor. So here are the updated comparison prices. Pressure pro, 350.00 for 10 sensors each 5 years or so, 10 year cost 700.00 TST 510, 500.00 up front first 5...

    New sensors vs new system?

Thanks everybody. John, sounds like your selling or involved with the TST system. Can you tell me what the difference is in the two types of batteries. While I like the idea of user changeable battery, I'm afraid that changing 10 batteries every year or so, would turn into a serious pain...

    New sensors vs new system?

Bob, thanks, I should have said replace sensors instead of batteries. But it amounts to the same thing. You are correct, thats also my understanding when they go dead, thats it, go get new ones. I was just having an issue spending 500 bucks for 10 new batteries (sensors).

    New sensors vs new system?

Anybody have an opinion on whether or not it makes sense to replace my batteries in a Doran system vs buying a whole new system from this new TST outfit? From what I understand my cost is about the same either way, for 10 tires. I keep getting no sensor messages and warnings when I know the...

    Slide awning fabric replacement

Has anybody replaced the fabric on their awnings with something quieter? Last time we were out, the wind and noise from the slide awnings was so bad, that I actually had to take off the fabric. To my surprise, the awning material was in ok shape, but it was noisy like a bag of chips. If...

Considering downsizing questioning fair price with the current economy

Guys, I am considering offering my 05 3400rl for sale. I would appreciate a little input from somebody who has been poking around in the current market, who has a feel for whats going on with prices now. I really don't want to take the dealer hit, so I think I may have a go at selling it...

    slide toppers

After this past weekend, I don't believe anything under the awnings would work. The wind was getting under the awnings and fully unrolling them, so they would billow up like a sail on a sailboat. They raised up at times about a foot or so. I thought they might rip off. At that moment in...

    slide toppers

We were on a hill in Williams Arizona, and the wind,... well, it was something like 40 mph against the side of the rv for 2 days straight. The flapping got pretty old. They were nice when the snow came, it quieted things down very nicely.

    Replacement Flooring

There are always exceptions. My apologies to your friend. I have a couple there also. If you find someone as old as you are, your odds of good info are increased. But I'm always a little suspect of all the 12 year olds running around giving advice, that have been "trained" . Well, they seem...

    Transmission fluid change DIY

That seems to be a source of debate, depending on the source. My info came from a dtt tech, who at the time had my transmission on a table in about a million pieces. He did manage to get it out rebuilt and back together in about 6 hours. So I tend to trust him. As I recall, his words were...

    Solar and batteries

Chris, You might be expecting a little too much from your panels. Our antenna draws .04 amps, our hot water heater draws .22 amps, and our co2 detector draws .04 amps. Well you get the idea. These little things could easily add up to an amp. If your only putting out 2.2 less that 1, that...

    Solar and batteries

Chris, I would check your wire sizes. It is possible that due to line loss and voltage drops due to line loss, there might not be much getting to the batteries. That certainly would explain driving and not charging quickly. What I understand, the only way to check your charge status with a...

FW Length Limits at Govt Camp Sites/Parks

Bill, We cant take our 3400 a LOT of places we used to like to go. Most any rv park is ok, but we don't even try to get into state parks anymore unless we've seen them first. If I had it to do over again, I'd get something shorter, but thats just us.
