    2014 Big Country bedspread

Does anyone know what company made the bedspread used in the 2014 Big Country? I thought I had once read about Flair doing the interiors, but can find no info on them or the bedspread. I like the size of ours & and the fitted bottom corners & would like to find another one.

    glass vessel bathroom sink stains

We have a 2014 Big Country, 3950 with bath & a half with clear glass vessel sinks. The one we use all the time is stained or etched by hard water or lime. I have tried everything to remove these marks. Has anyone been successful in keeping these sinks clean? Or, has anyone replaced their sink...

Receiver hitch for Big Country 3950FB and full-timers mail service

Does anyone know where to buy a receiver hitch for a cargo carrier for our particular rig? Also, in the past, I have read your posts on mail service when traveling full time. The preferred one seemed to be South Dakota. However, we intend to spend the majority of our time in Texas. Any new...

residential fridge inverter, euro style hidden hinges, TV booster

WE purchased our 2014 Big Country 3950FB a couple months ago. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced these problems and has answers. We turn the inverter on in the front basement before traveling so the fridge will run. However, it shuts itself off after a period of time and we have to...

    leak in bedroom slide

We have a Big County 3250TS. When I removed the fitted sheet from the mattress, the top edge in the middle was wet. I felt the wall below the wooden headboard, and it was wet. But we can find no place above this where the water could have come from. Any ideas?

    Window shattered

Has anyone had one of their RV windows shatter? Our door-side big window popped and shattered while parked. What a noise and what a mess! We're trying to figure out what would cause this. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated.

Good Sam extended warranty-a good deal? Does ERS on auto or RV policy work?

I tried to find this info in previous treads, but had no luck with my particular question. Does Good Sam warranty cover everything or just this and that? And are they prompt & reliable when you need them? Also, we currently have GS ERS, and have called them a few times, but they took so long...

    roof vents

Has anyone else had problems with the cranks in the roof vents? They have always been hard to turn, almost like the shaft was not straight. Now, one won't crank at all, so the vent has to be left open, and the other one is very iffy, could quit working at any time. Can the crank mechanism be...

    snowbirding weather

This is our first winter to snowbird. In past years, I have read on the forums the complaints about undesirable weather. I am curious about how this winter has stacked up for you against past winters and what locations you have found to be the best overall, weather-wise, for you. We spent 6...

    Goodyear tires for replacements

We had a blowout on our 1-1/2 year old Towmax tire. We had about 20,000 miles on it. We checked with Camping World on a Goodyear replacement. They gave us a quote on GY Marathon trailer tire, ST 235/80R16, load range E. We intend to replace all 4, of course. The question is, what do you...

    RGV campgrounds

I bet you all have answered this question many times, but I have been unable to find any answers on the search. I have also looked at Trailer Life and Passport America directories, as well as online sites, such as RV Park Reviews & others, but have not been able to find anyplace that narrows...

    LP gas tanks

I don't know whether any of you have experienced this or not, but hopefully someone has & has an idea what causes this and how to avoid it. More than once, we have come home and the 5er is cold, so we flip on the furnace. After a few minutes, it still is not blowing warm air, blowing but...

    Dish TV remote control programming

We have a Jensen M#JE3208 TV in our 2010 Big Country. We transferred our Dish TV receiver from our home to the 5er when we hit the road this time. However, the remote with the receiver will not program to operate the TV, even with Dish's help. A call to Jensen produced the info that Dish had...

drawer under refrigerator coming out during travel

We have a Big Country 3250TS. The drawer under the refrig opens during travel. I don't have a lot of weight in there, and I don't want to have to empty it each time we're ready to take off. Has anyone found some kind of door latch or other mod that prevents this from happening?

    campground directories

Do you find more than one campground directory helpful in finding desirable campgrounds, or do you more commonly use RV Park Reviews? I am now using Trailer Life's CG directory and RV Park Reviews, but still have a problem finding a CG we want in some areas. A camper once told me that they...

    Big Horn in PA

We stayed a week at Penn Avon Campground near Selinsgrove, PA (very nice campground). Last few days, a Big Horn pulled in. We talked to the owner. He's from Virginia. Throughly checked several brands before purchasing Heartland. He agrees they are the best built. Lots of RVs on the highway.

    Maine arrival and sightings

We just arrived at Timberland Acres RV Park at Trenton, ME today, and noticed a Big Horn in the same campground. Also saw a new Big Country (new silver color) on 1A west of here. Wonderful 80s temperature during the day (the locals say it is unusually warm), but dry and cooling to the 60s at...

    Ohio campgrounds

Has anyone stayed at River Trail Crossing near Butler, OH? RV Park Review's last posting is very old. We're not looking for amenities, just reasonably roomy sites with hookups & easy access.

Signatures, profile pictures & avators question

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I could not find the info I need. I'm trying to include a picture of our rig, one of DH & I, and a map of states visited on my postings (Is that vanity or what?). But I have only managed to get 2 of the 3 to show up, as far as I can tell. My profile...

Indiana to Maine through New York

The DH and I are considering a trip to Maine this summer from Indiana. We would like to avoid the busy highways through New York, don't mind state highways, but would like to make the best time possible. Can anyone give us any tips on what highways to avoid, which ones are the easiest to...

    enjoyable campground in East Texas

For anyone looking for a peaceful, enjoyable, clean campground in East Texas without the extra amenities, try Camp Tonkawa Springs near Garrison, TX. They have a herd of deer and 2 guineas that graze there right in the campground. They are very tame, but watchful, and are a lot of fun to...

    Genuine RV, Nacogdoches, TX

We want to give a big "5" to Genuine RV in Nacogdoches, TX for their response to our water leak problem. Our Big Country was purchased in Indiana, but we were in Louisiana when our basement became extremely wet. We called Heartland to determine where we could get it repaired under warranty...

Texas State Parks & RV Parks

Has anyone had experience with making reservations at Texas State Parks, specifically Mission Tejas? Cypress Bend Park, Many, LA

We are staying at Cypress Bend Park, LA, next to a huge lake (Sabine River Authority) on site #21. Beautiful place, being upgraded, yet reasonably priced. There's a fishing tournament going on today. There is a Big Horn on a site right by the lake, but have not seen anyone to talk to there.

    Keeping Drain traps open

    Using POI's while enroute

I have downloaded some POI's to our c530 Garmin GPS from POI Factory. However, I'm not sure I understand how to make them work. When I have set the GPS to a destination, will I automatically get a signal that we are near one of the POI's, or do I have to go into "Extras", where the POI's are...

    rubber roof repair

We scraped a tree with the edge of the rubber roof on our 5er at Fall Creek Falls State Park campground (it goes without saying, no more stays at that tight, overgrown campground). We have about a 3 inch vertical tear and some smaller cuts along the edge. Anyone repaired these before? Any...

Where to stay in the Outer Banks, NC?

We are planning a vacation for the beginning of Sept, 09 to North and/or South Carolina to campgrounds on the ocean. We're thinking the Outer Banks, as I have read some good reports on this locale. We travel without children or pets, have no need of luxury amenities, like pools and spas...

Does anyone have a method for cleaning the top of your slides after camping under trees? I know their are awnings for the slides, but we haven't got to that yet, and we're concerned about sticks, leaves, branches being up there when we retract the slides and causing damage. Any ideas or...
