We considered the loft units, but found that the kids really didn't care for the tight fit with the ceiling so close. With the standard bunks they can use the bunks for reading, playing games, etc. They didn't feel that the loft bunk would be useful for much more than sleeping so we passed on...

While I can't speak to this Hensley product, the other Hensley stuff gets rave reviews. Check rv.net for a much larger audience and better chance of a reply.

I know nothing about this, but how does the federal emissions warranty affect something like this? Maybe your over the mileage or maybe the fed warranty doesn't apply to commercial diesel vehicles?

The tripods work wonderfully if used properly. They'll remove nearly all side to side movement from the unit. The trick is that you need to orient them correctly and then load them (weight) properly. I've shown many people at campgrounds how to make their tripod work the way they had hoped it...

I use a guillotine style hitch for just this reason. There is no doubt if it's locked in place and it cannot ever fail!

Nope. Plenty of V10 trucks working every day as rollbacks, tow trucks, construction haulers, etc. The V10 is known for 300,000+ mile service life with very few issues. Get an 05 or newer and you get the 3 valve heads and the TorqueShift transmission. Bulletproof.

So the published length numbers are actually inside dimensions? I was told that length dimensions are from the pin to the bumper. Is Heartland the only one measuring the inside? Confusing if it's true, no?

My only comment is to talk to the people actually towing with a 1/2 ton, not the folks that have never done it. I towed with a F150 with the 4.6 gasser for 3 years. My axles didn't twist, in fact I had no issues whatsoever. The newer 1/2 tons are being designed to tow the lighter campers...

I use a simple soft cover made by a local company. $175 and lifetime warranty. Velcro attach on side rails. I've had the fancy hard shell and rollups and they either leaked, froze solid or were inconvenient due to the limited open sizes.

What did the weight decal (on the trailer) show for the weight of the trailer?

Missed that...after I saw his quote: "The odometer reads 144568 but I would say it's not accurate, so we will say it is not." I just closed the tab.

There is no buy it now price and the seller has a reserve set so we won't know the price until it sells...or not...Seller also states that the odometer is not accurate, but doesn't say if it is high or low....Not a truck I'd consider.

Are they not putting adequate tires/wheels on at the factory?

Good for you on keeping the haterz and pot stirrers accountable. I'm praying that you get an acceptable resolution soon and that you post that resolution in detail on both forums. Accountability is important.

40K X 6 year @ 7.25 % is $700/month 70K X 6 year @ 7.25% is $1225/month I think either payment is beyond ridiculous to pay for a vehicle, but everyone has their own priorities and reality.

That would seem to be a logical conclusion. Heavy could lead to less movement of the cover in wind.

FYI...you can find a lot of complaints of covers wearing the edges of the rubber roof on campers. Unless you can secure the covers in such a way where it cannot flap at all in wind, the covers can and do wear through the rubber roof.

Porposing is when the rig bucks either back and forth laterally or up and down which usually translates to a forward/back motion in the tow vehicle. Usually caused by a significant problem with weight distribution.

Thanks, Bob. I think that's part of what really rubs me the wrong way. Others have pointed it out also. If I buy a $40,000 unit from Heartland I expect Heartland to make it right. Period. I didn't buy parts and have someone assemble it for me...I bought a complete unit that the manufacturer...
