I have just bought the truck and hooked it to the trailer in the driveway. I am pulling this weekend. (local trip). I havent really had time to check the level, but I dont think its going to be terrible. A little high but not bad. I am just used to having about 10 inches of clearance and I...
Thanks Don....The problem is, the Chevy dont have the spring blocks. The ford I had did and it was real easy. I think dodge has them too. The Chevy springs sit right on the axle.
Hey guys. I just bought a 2008 Chevy Dually D/A-CC/4X4. I am towing a 2006 Bighorn 3055RL. I was wandering if anybody has lowered the rear of this particular truck. I have read some stuff online about using the rear spring shackles that will lower it about 2 inches. That should be enough...
I have a 2006 3055RL. Both of my living area slides seem to be dragging the carpet alot recently. Has anyone else had the problem and has anyone adjusted them theirselves. Any info is appreciated.
This is an ongoing issue, just thought I would throw it out for discussion. I currently have a 1999 F-250 that I purchased new and it has been the best truck I have ever owned. I will probably buy new in the next few years and go with a dually. If Ford still had the 7.3, it would be a...
A/c
Hey guys. Bighorn owner here if I may jump in because I dealt with the airflow problem on mine. Here is what worked for me. If you read on dometics website, they tell you a 15k BTU unit requires a minimum of 8 vents. Mine only had 6 so I added 3 more. I did the "vent tent". I also...
I have the green tinted runoff on my roof. I wouldnt call my goo though. It has just stained the roof a little. Mine is a 2006 model and I have never noticed any problems to come from it. Just my 2 cents.
Has anyone switched over to disc brakes. Silly question huh. I was looking at them on the mor/ryde website but didnt see any pricing. If you have them what did it cost and was it worth it.
Thanks
I got my XPS ribs put on today. Thanks to all of you for input. They fit fine and clearances are fine. I have tried my best to find something bad about these tires and its just not out there. I can finally travel without worry.
Jim, that is an awesome price for the Goodyears. I am getting the Michelin XPS for $230 installed, balanced, and all new stems. Thanks for the goodyear info though.
Hey gang. Its been a long while since I posted on here. I know tires have been and are still a big issue. I just ordered the Michelin XPS for my 2006 Bighorn 3055RL. I am replacing my second set of Missions. I just hope they fit OK being they are the 235/85. I am not usually one to deviate...

I was also one of those people on that A/C problem 2+ years ago. I would be glad to share with you the things I did, not the dealer, to fix my problem. Feel free to send me a PM and I will give you my email and/or phone number.
I know alot of these issues have been brought up before. Has anyone else been dissapointed with the braking ability of the BH. I have an 06 3055 RL and just am not happy with the brakes. I plan on replacing them next week. I have had one to lock up on me and burn the pads completely off...
garage
I built my own for my 3055. I did a 30 X 40 pole shed with a 1 ft overhang on each end so I actually have 42 feet of coverage. You may not want to go as wide if all you are covering is your RV. I keep some farm equipment in mine also. I have not closed it in yet $$$$ Just keeping it...
air flow
2006 Bighorn 3055RL
doug, definitely feel and have felt your pain. I had very poor air flow and did the TimK trick and that helped alot but not enough if it was real hot. I finally bit the bullet and put the 2nd a/c on mine. Made all the difference in the world. No more problems...
a/c height
I just put the carrier low profile on mine. Its way shorter than the original and is 2 inches shorter than the dometic low pro. Just food for thought.
2nd a/c
Yep, I made the decision today to go ahead an put the 2nd unit on. I dont need it except at the beach, but I am convinced it is the only true fix. These trailers are big with lots of windows. Just too much heat to cool with one air when its hot and humid. I am a 68 degree kind of...
I am getting ready to add a 2nd a/c (13.5) in the bedroom. I was told by the dealer that the 20amp leg of the 50 amp service is just for that second a/c. I just want to confirm that this is true so I dont have to worry about any power issues. Everything else runs off of 30amp leg, such as...
I have not adjusted yet. Going to dealer tomorrow since its still under warranty. I have had good luck out of my dealer on everything so far. Probably got about 3000-4000 miles on it now. Thanks.
Has anyone had any brake problems. Got my 3055 in July 06 and brakes were good. I now barely have any brakes. Brake controller is working fine with other trailers that I have. I dont even have very good brakes at very low speeds. Normally should be real stiff here and was when I first got...
2nd a/c
Let me tag along again on this forum again. I have done all the mods and have alot better airflow now. I am still not convinced that it will cure all my problems in 90+ degree weather with high humidity. Have not made it there yet. My question is have any of you installed the second...
towing mine with a '99 F-250 SB 7.3 powerstoke. Added a leaf to the rear instead of airbags to level the truck. No problems here. The overall weight is not an issue at all. Its just heavy on the pin.
3055
I bought one in June of 06. I had a trade with some negative equity, I added slide toppers to all the slides, gel-coat, most amenities inside except the fireplace. taxes and all just for the trailer, not counting trade I was in the 39,000 range. Hope this helps.
I had the some problem with mine when I bought it in June 06. My dealer replaced the compt. door to include a complete new door frame as well. Guess what, the new one leaks too. I am curious to see what input Scott will have on this issue.
I also love the layout of the 3055 and some of the creature comforts that come with it. I would still trade tomorrow if I could afford to do that.
I havent had the axle or tire problems yet. Minor adjustments on the slides. Shower leak, etc. etc. etc. I could go on and on. Did run...
I bought my 06 BH3055 in June and believe it or not I have not travelled in the rain yet. Leaving out tomorrow and it is supposed to rain. Cant wait. Mine does not have the "D" seal.
Just for the record, had I found this forum prior to buying mine, I would not have bought. Would I buy...

DennisZ,
Some awesome info here. Great link. Saved it to my laptop. My dealer has agreed to add more vents to my unit since I also have 6 total, I may add even more now that I have this info. As for the end of the run, I am going to leave mine taped off and try it when it gets hot...
talked to my dealer today. they told me just to take mine off and bring it in and they would give me a new one. i will try this first. cant beat that for service.
mine cuts on and off fine, and does have the delay to cool it down, it just runs entirely too long each cycle. I figured thermostat and your input confirms I have got a good starting place anyway. thanks.
Has anyone had a problem with the furnace running way too long (25-30 minutes)? That is a lot of heat from a gas furnace and it takes forever before the heat comes back on, so then it gets very cold in the trailer. Thermostat malfunction or what?????
air flow problem
Some more tips I have found. I have been working on mine for a week now. The TimK mod helps a lot. I also got to studying my vents. I pulled the diffusers down and found out that the main duct goes way past where the vent is. The main duct in the bedroom went past the vent...
