Have an issue with failure of 12 VDC Power upon Slide Out actuation. When pushing the switch to move the Slide Outs, the DC Power seems to short out. Any lights that are on go dark. This also happens with Water Pump Operation. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue. Thanks for any help. Robbie

Hi Robbie,

The symptoms sound like your battery is pretty weak - so weak that when the hydraulics call for power from the battery, everything goes dark.

If you're on shore power while this happens, it suggests that your power converter is not getting power, has blown on-board fuses, or has failed.

If you have auto-levelup, you can cycle the control panel to the mode that displays battery voltage. I'm guessing you're way below 12V DC. While on shore power, you should be reading 13.2-13.6V DC. If on battery alone, a fully charged battery will read 12.5-12.6V DC.

The test panel for the holding tanks also displays battery charge, although it's less precise.

Let us know what you find.

Always do the DC high current stuff when the trailer is plugged in to shore power, if possible. The power converter/charger gives your battery system the help of 60 (? - depends on model of converter) extra amps of 12 volt current.

The slide system should have its own auto reset circuit breakers on the 12 volt buss from the battery positive terminal. This buss gets power from the converter/charger through a 50 amp self-resetting circuit breaker. This breaker supplies charge current to the battery and big 12 volt loads on the 12 volt buss when the shorepower is connected; but also supplies current in the other direction toe the 12 volt fusepanel and devices like lights connected to that fusepanel when operating on battery only.
