I'm SO jealous!!! There is no more camping in our future before next spring. Mark has decided that he doesn't want to go until my back is totally healed and a lot stronger, so he winterized the trailer last weekend.:(:(:(:(:(

You guys have a good time! Deb, have a mudslide for me will ya? Say hi to Dale and Judy for us too.

Drive safe everyone!

Hi Tess,
Debbi and I are excited about joining you for the NoCal/CentralCal Rally. We just came home from the great Las Vegas rally with Karen and Forrest as our wonderful hosts. Btw,Take everything that Cranky Bob says with a grain of salt and lime. He is a real card. JimBo was there in LV and what a great job he has, and he is the encyclopedia of info on all our Heartland rigs, and somehow he knows just what add ons to put on your rig. So far he has convinced me to buy rotochocks, wrapncoil shower head, JT stabilizers, and much, much more and all I had to do was feed him. LOL

Any ideas on where to stay maybe an hour north of Bakersfield off of the 99, as we are driving up from San Clemente? We will update you after I check with DW as to what we will bring for the potlucks. Look forward to meeting some new friends and having a blast! Thanks for the invite.

HI EVERYONE...THE AGENDA FOR THE RALLY HAS BEEN POSTED. I'm waiting to hear from some of you to comfirm your reservation.

LarryHeadhunter - Nice talking to you and Jim on the phone when you were in Vegas. You guys are hilarious and I'm looking forward to meeting you both in person. I don't know of any place an hour north of Bakersfield. However, in Bakersfield there is "A Country Park RV" which is from jct Hwy99 & Hwy 58 East, go 6 miles on Hwy 58, then one block south on Fairfax & enter driveway on right at "622 S. Fairfax Rd". PH # (661)363-6412. We always stay there on our way back from Vegas! We've been to others in the area and they're not as nice or clean. Be sure to ask for a grassy site and they're all pull-thru's so you'll love it! LOL The only other one I know is that "Lakes & RV Resort" north of Fresno (Chowchilla) that I sent you info on, it's new and we haven't been there yet.

Ziggy - A 'combined' California rally will (possibly) be planned for next April in southern CA. Take this time to recover so you'll be strong & can really enjoy yourself for the rally next spring.

Flammingknitter - I've got your reservation set to come in a day early on Oct 9th & you'll be parked with the Heartland block....see you there on Thursday!

Slmayor - Thank you! It's a lot of hard work, but it's well worth it for all of us to get together and make new friendships with other Heartland owners.

Rally Directions

Just found this on the Rally site.

Online mapping programs and GPS do not yet include Dalton Road and will send you unnecessarily out of the way. Please use the following directions to anywhere at Jackson Rancheria, including the Casino, Hotel, and RV Park.

Hi everyone,
I guess we are the only representatives from socal. For Saturday appetizer potluck my beautiful DW Debbi is going to make a delicious yummy Raspberry Cheese Pie with crackers, that is out of this world.
For sunday's potluck the DW will make a veggie green salad with dressing. Theresa, is there any need for main dishes or we all be eating hot dogs and burgers?

Btw, we found a KOA in Visalia, near Goshen, about an hour north of Bakersfield for an overnight stopover. It will leave us about 3 hrs drive to Jackson. Anyone heard of this campground? Cya all soon.

Hi Larry,

Yes, you are the only one coming from So Cal and we're happy to have you join us. Then when you go to the next rally, you can tell them what a GREAT group Central Cal has and they're going to wish they had come too! LOL Rasberry cheese pie sounds yummy, better make 2, there's 30 of us. :D For Sundays Dinner Potlulck, one person did mention that he "maybe" BBQ some meat. Anyone is welcome to make a main dish if they wish. We've got 15 rigs...so it would be nice to have a few main dishes too.

Art & I have stayed at the KOA in Visalia back in June '04. We didn't care for it, you have to drive thru the Ghetto to get there and it looks nothing like the pictures posted on their website...UNLESS they've done some renovations since then. I guess as long as you stay in your rig, you'll be ok, it's only a one night stay. How bout the "The Lakes RV & Golf Resort"? The Lakes RV & Golf Resort Then you'll be about 2.5-3 hrs from Jackson. You drive up Hwy 99 to Stockton/Lodi and take Hwy 88, go East...you'll be about 40 mins to Jackson. Follow the directions that dvista posted or you'll get lost! LOL

See you there!

I have to agree - great turn-out for a first rally. And a great rally it was. Hats off to Teresa/Art and their assistants, Stacey/Butch (gmc).

And if other SOBs were as helpful as John was, they'd we'd always have a few SOBs at the rallies to do all the work! That guy was a mad-man worker.

This was one of the top 4 campgrounds I have ever been too. If one ever finds themselves in the Sacramento area and wants to stay at a really nice place - choose Jackson Rancheria. Nice long concrete pull-throughs with concrete patios and a wide grassy are between sites. Full-hookups with cable and "sometimes" working WiFi. Awesome rally room and pool too. Beautiful surroundings. And if you care to visit the casino for food or fun, the free shuttle comes by every 20 minutes or so.

Great job Teresa and team and thank you everyone who could make it. Another special time was had by all. Thanks for making me feel so welcome and thanks to for yet another birthday cake!

I'm with you, Art. The rally was great! Met a lot of great people and ate some really good food too! You guys did a fantastic job. I'm looking forward to the next one. Who would have guessed that SOB's could be so likable?

Just one question for Jim - How many rigs do you need before we get the good stuff like Alex from EVDO and goodie bags from Camping World? Just kidding. Our rally was pretty darn close to perfect the way it was.

Hi Marybeth,

So great to meet the flamingknitter in person! Loved your Augusta too.

Having Alex at the TX rally was a request I made of Alex when chatting with him one day and also remembering that he lives in TX somewhere. Also been talking to him and his boss, the owner of the 3G Store about having a table at our North American rally in Goshen in 2009.

We'll see how Houston goes and take away from that, what we can to tweak the formula a bit to make the next one, if there is a next one, even better. Things like this have to work both ways (for us, Heartland owners and for the vendor).

As for Camping World, some chapter leaders have great established relationships with local dealers. Such is the case between the Katy, TX Camping World and our chapter leader in the Houston area, Jay Coffman. Joe gets to show new product to us and invite us to his store and service center and we get Joe to come chat about CW, share a meal with us and bring goodies.

As the Heartland Owners Club further develops, more of this mutually-beneficial relationships will develop.

That all said, we can all agree that Teresa and Art did AWESOME and I loved that game that was played after dinner. I told Nancy (yes, she really does exist Larry) about it and she has played this before at some other function.

Travel safe Marybeth and I hope to meet up with you at another rally in 2009!

Jim
