Battery Brands

I currently have an Interstate battery. I am looking for a spare or maybe make the Interstate the spare. Anyone have any experience with Optima? I've heard they are good for RVs. Are they worth the money?

Depends on what your usage is. They are very convenient and maintenance free. If you mostly camp with hookups, they're probably a fine choice. But they would not be my choice for serious boondocking. They are not true deep-cycle batteries like, for instance, a Trojan T105.

Well, I haven't done seriouse boondocking yet. I race mountain bikes and there are a lot of venues where basically you stay in a field or parking lot and there are no hookups. I haven't had problems with just using one battery for a weekend up until now. It has gotten colder in WI and the furnace fan really draws the battery down. I plan to carry a spare battery with me next year and was looking for what other people use for brands.
