Communication is the key

Our dealer was not able to complete all the warranty repairs our BH needed so we scheduled with Heartland to bring the unit to Elkhart. The overall experience was 8.5 out of 10. For me, not being kept in the loop during the repairs and having a less than accommodating CS rep are the big hits against the 10. The techs in Elkhart are great, the facility is very accommodating, the staff are helpful and cordial and the extra effort to check and fix things not even on our list was really good. Extra time was needed and we would have appreciated getting a status update without having to show up every day to check (our repairs required us to stay in a hotel).
We also had a tree branch fight us for possession of a cg site 😏 and needed the roof replaced. We tried Lazy Days in Tampa and were expecting a 1 week visit as the insurance estimate was 37 hours. After having the unit for 4 days and not even looking at it, we called and were told at least 80 hours. Yikes! We picked up the unit and scheduled with Duncan's RV Repairs in Elkhart for after the warranty work. Like Heartland, the techs are super, the accommodations are adequate and the staff are helpful and cordial. The communication was the piece that needs work. Office staff don't communicate with one another to know status update and our coordinator usually wasn't at her desk to answer the phone so we waited and scrambled a few times for information (we again were in a hotel). The work was done in 5 days.
The end result is the actual work was well done, and then some, in both places, but the finding out status was like paddling against the current. It was well worth the effort for us to be in Elkhart for 3 weeks to get our unit back in shape. We strongly recommend having warranty work done at Heartland and also recommend talking to Duncan's for other repairs or mods for your unit.
