What type of fluid is used in the Level Up system. Had a leak. Now repaired. Need to top off the fluid reservoir. Thanks in advance for your help.

This is from the Lippert Level Up manual:
Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) with Dexron III or Mercon 5 or a blend of both isrecommended by Lippert Components, Inc

And here here is a link to that manual [LINK].

Going to ask....but I think logically I know the answer.

You should have all legs up, so all fluid is in reservoir prior to filling.....correct?

Since you need to add fluid, you might consider adding a quart of CAT additive #9881. That is what is recommended to stop the popping and cracking noises from the jacks. It costs about $35.00/quart and is available at any Caterpillar dealer. Pour it in and exercise all the hydraulics to blend it.

gasman,

Is it part # 9881 or 1U-9891

FROM THE CAT WEBPAGE:

1U-9891 Hydraulic Oil Additive (1 qt)

Description:
Low friction additive for some hydraulic systems

Attributes:

  • Relieves "stick-slip" on noisy hydraulic cylinders

I have written down in my notes its 1U-9891.

I know what you mean. LOL.

I have gone to CASE and NEW HOLLAND tractor stores and neither one of them has ever heard of Anti Stiction fluid.

So I guess its CAT or nothing.

So why doesn't Lippert just put the additive into the hydraulic reservoir in the first place? Clearly they know the issue exists.
