Merced, Ca to Gardnerville, Nv

Anyone have suggestions for a reasonably NON-scanty route? The ones Mapquest is suggesting have warnings for no trucks or other large vehicles!

As a reminder, single traveler with aCyclone 4114, only a year experience driving and 5 months of that I have been mostly parked!

99 north to Hwy 88 is going to be your best route.

RottsNScotts, Jerrod is correct, take highway 88 right into Gardnerville. We use it always to go to the rally in Jackson. Last year on October 17, 2016 we had to wait for CalTrans to plow the snow off Carson Pass before we could leave Jackson. Twas an interesting drive, we had no problems.
