Sitting at Raccoon Mtn Park outside Chattanooga for first weekend. Sun is out temps will be in higher 70's, DW is at work until this afternoon, 9 rigs from Good Sam Club Chapter here, Just had another Sundance pull in and a Big Country. Will try to hook up with them later on this afternoon. It doesn't get any better than this.

Love Raccoon Mountain. We went there often when we lived in the Chattanooga area. We really enjoyed going to the TVA project that went down several stories in the ground to see the turbines operating. I forgot how many KW's were generated when they dumped the lake on top of Raccoon Mountain in the morning hours.

It was a great weekend. 10 rigs, 26 members. Weather could have not been better, just right for a campfire each night and food, food, food. Met a family from Blount County Tennessee and talked for a long time. They had a Sundance also. This week heading to Lebanon Tn for a State Staff Meeting of the Tennessee Good Sam Clubs.

How is Raccoon Mountain as an RV park? We stopped there a long time ago(we might be talking 15-20 years) and is was trashy. We never went back. We overnight in Chat. twice a year and have been staying at the Holiday Travel Park south of Chat but it is a little pricey.

They have finished a lot of improvements to the park. It is not a RESORT but will do for spending a few days there. It was clean, quiet and had great views to the mountains. Power, water, and cable was great. Site was level and they had added concrete patios to each site. If you have kids there is a go-kart track, batting cages and a cave for exploring. They try to keep the monthly campers on a side away from the visiting rigs. They got rid of the old rigs that looked like they were going to fall apart. We will go back. One note we also stay at Best Holiday travel park and if you are a Good Sam member you will get a discount. It is one of our favorite places to camp and we only live 20 miles away from it.

I think Raccoon is part of Passport America. We will try it next time through. Thanks for the input.
