Windows hard to open/close

Our windows are very hard to open(the up/down windows). We have tried spraying the edges so they would slide easier but that doesn't seem to help. We are now looking to see if we can file something to loosen them up. It seems to be in the last 1-2" there is something that tightens up making it difficult to open/close the windows. Once past this point everything is fine. We thought they would loosen up in time but they haven't.

Anyone know how to loosen up the windows? We have one neither one of us can open.

Sue & Tom,

Tight windows are a very common problem, especially when the problem is directly from the factory. The window is built in two 1/2 pieces, an outside half, and an inside half.

When the windows are installed the trailer wall/opening is sandwitch'ed between the halfs and the screws on the inside are tightened and secure the windows halves together.

Your windows are screwed too tight. Lossen all the inside screws 1/4 turn and see if that corrects you problem. Continue to adjust until the window slides to your liking.

PS.........this is the voice of experience with this problem....lol

Thank you very much. We like having windows open and it has been frustrating. I'll try it as soon as we set up camp tonight.

Everything is hard to open, except the crank window. We have sprayed, windows that we manage to open on a regular basis are still hard to open. They seem to hang up in the first inch of opening and the reverse, the last inch of closing. We were thinking about taking a window out when we are sure of reasonable weather.

It pertains to any window that has a "slider" and the screws are on the inside.

The frames are screwed down too tight and that pinches the track the window slides in. The track needs to me loosened so the window can slide.
