I can't believe how much we love the split bathroom and 2 sinks. I get up a bit earlier then Rhonda does. I can go out close the bedroom door and do all of my morning things in my bathroom without bugging her. I have my space and she has hers.
I am curious if you will miss the Ashland after spending 2 seasons in it.

Absolutely we will miss this layout! We've had all-in-one (AOI) bathrooms before and it's just not for us. You and I are definitely in the minority though. An overwhelming majority of RVs want or need the AIO layout. That is why the split-bath layouts are rarely offered and don't stay on the lineup for that long. The demand for it is cyclical. So if/when they are retired, they usually come back a few years later.

I do not know with certainty, the marketing roadmap for the Ashland, but if I was in the market for one, I'd buy/order one as soon as I could :)

I'm one of those who like the combined layout. I don't like the sink in the bedroom, But I will say this. I occasionally use the kitchen sink if my bathroom is taken up and the kids are using their bathroom.

Really ?
I can't believe that they are not in a top selling floor plan.
I do know when we first looked at it Rhonda didn't care for the sink in the bedroom. But now after spending so much time together in the Ashland we LOVE THE FLOOR PLAN.....And the sink in the bedroom is one of the things she really likes like. It is so much easier for her to get ready in there she has all the room she needs.
The Ashland has so much room everywhere.

Why don't they put in a double sink in the front bathrooms. That should act like your separated Ashland now.

I finally got around to reconnecting my left propane tank to my right one. When they install the generator they separated my propane tanks. 1 for the coach and 1 for the gen. I think they did it because it was the easy way to do it instead of doing it right.
Sorry no before pictures.

I think they had a reason and it is a few fold. One is easier install as you mentioned and another is cost. You probably should have a third tank feeding the generator and only the generator. That is why I am assuming they did what they did. Stay with two tanks and just separate them. They have change over valves but they pump out 11 inWC and I'm betting the generator is not hard plumbed therefore it may already have a regulator on it. Did you install an automatic change over valve for the two tanks?

If yours is like mine ?
I have 3 switches that operate 3 sets of light up there. You could combine 2 of those together then use the extra switch for your accent lights

I will check into that, might work if i can access the wires from 2 of them from under the wood accent on the celing.

Not to poopoo a good project but I have not had great luck from those valves when used in pneumatic systems, most all of them leak.
I would be happier I think with a gas rated teflon ball valve in that location. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

EDIT: Looking at McMaster-Carr there are Natural Gas rated valves that look like that, there are also air shut off valves that look like the same thing, but the price is about half. Just thought I'd mention the importance of the right valve in this location (unregulated higher pressure) and my poor experience with valves that look like this.

Why not the Newport with the bath and a half then you both have your own bathroom.

It already had the auto valve the just pluged one side off. And ya the gen has a pressure reg

OK so did you run a line to the high pressure side of the change over valve? You could also look into removing the regulator on the generator and running it from the low pressure side to keep things cleaner. the could be a future improvement.

The space used for the 2nd bathroom is more than I want to sacrifice.

BTW - it was officially announced today that the Ashland and Key West are being discontinued soon. Last orders being taken in March.

It will be interesting to see what replaces them and if any new technology gets incorporated into them

I could not handle the lack of space around the bed and no nightstand. However the front bath is nice.
