Opening exit window in bedroom

Hello all. My husband & I just purchased a new to us 2016 2750RL. This is our first trailer but we're not unfamiliar with the workings. Today, while loading up for a trip, I tried to open the exit window in the bedroom for ventilation but I can't seem to get it open. When pushing the bar out, it feels as if there's a suction holding the window in. I'm afraid to force the issue. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Nancy Mori

Hi pntrpwr,

Congratulations on the new-to-you Wilderness and welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. It's possible the window has never been opened and may just be a little stuck. But if you're going to push harder, it might be a good idea to have someone on the outside just in case.

Bit the bullet and pushed REALLY hard to open the window and voila! Success. Just so nervous about breaking something and am handling everything with "kid gloves"!

Thanks!

We've found the gasket like to stick on this type of window. I try to remember to open it every so often to make sure it will in an emergency.
