i had the same thing on a 2010 3850, left tank was empty and right would not switch over, called camping world here in dothan and they got me a new switching unit and i have yet to take it in to get it replaced but the 2am questioning why it is cold is why i have a plug in heater with thermostat...

i also wondered about the location until i closed the door after pulling in the slides getting ready to go, the last thing i do is disconnect the A/C power and low and behold the switch is about eye level for me when looking in.......... if it isnt idiot proof i can assure you i will find out...
