    6k axles with 7k hubs???

So today I decided to grease/change the bearings on my cyclone. It’s been 6 years since we bought it and decided since we are traveling soon to hand pack vs utilizing the zerks. A month ago I took pictures of the axle placard and called dexter to get the correct kits. After giving them the...

    Ford 450 vs Ram 3500

You want to buy in 2018. Fully loaded. Ram $70000 Ford $75000 Next year 2019 Ram $70000 Ford $100000+ My two cents. The one ford I’ve ever owned ford wouldn’t stand behind their products. The leather seats started cracking in first month. Ford said normal wear and tare and wouldn’t replace...

Long Bed or Short Bed Dually ?

I pulled my 43’ cyclone with my Ram dually mega cab 6’3” bed and a sliding hitch. I only needed the hitch a couple of times but it’s better than hitting the cab. I’ve upgraded to a Ram crewcab with an 8’ flatbed, of course a dually. I had a Ram 2500 srw with a short bed and towed with that...

    Exhaust Brake

The 2018 RAMs (at least the 5500s) exhaust break has two settings. 1) auto - will only engage when the brakes are applied. Allows coasting when no breaks are applied. 2) full - you let off the throttle and your head hits the steering wheel. And the truck remembers the last setting. So no...

    Thinking of getting Satellite service

Dish tail gator ($500) will only do one tv and will cost $80+ a month. Directv will take some setup at each location but 3 TVs with a DVR costs $60 a month. The dish was set and forget but the price and single tv was a turn off for us. Also if the DVR or dish goes bad you’ll have to shell...

2017 Big Country with Big Problems

I had questions about the hideaway TVs when they first showed up in RVs. We have a similar setup in the military and have to bring 5 TVs to have 3 that will work at our destination. The system lets the tv shake because there are no straps stabilizing it while down. LED/LCD TVs don’t like to be...

    Ram 5500 w/ 4.88 gears

I own that exact truck. Ram 5500 with 4.8 rear. At 65mph I’m at 2300rpm and at 75mph I’m screaming at 2800rpms. Normally cruise at 65mph when not towing due to the 19.5 tires are rated for 75mph only. When towing I do 60mph. I get 14mpg no tow and 10mpg towing my 20k cyclone. Sent from my...

12 volt light replacement with LED?

I replaced all my lights 5 years ago with LED lights from here: https://www.superbrightleds.com/ I haven't had to change one since. I full time and my wife keeps the lights on almost all day and my power bill went down about $30 a month. So it took almost 2 years to recoup the cost but worth it.

Cell service - Should I stay or should I go?

My family has three unlimited lines with T-Mobile. We FT and run through about 80 Gb per phone per month. We switched from unlimited AT&T because they would only let us tether our phones for 10Gb total for all three phones. I have used my phone everywhere with either LTE or 3G service...

Tow rating of 2000 Ram 2500 with factory tow options

If you are looking at a Ram you are looking at a long term investment. Don't believe me look at everyone driving a Ford. Every three years they are buying new $70000 trucks because their fords are run down, breaking and the newer Fords can't keep up with a 15 year old Ram. I have a 2009 Ram...
