AC in 2012 Big Country (Living room) has no power to thermostat.

Thermostat is completely dead. No power to it. I've checked the breakers/fuses and they all show to be good. Wondering if there is a fuse/breaker on the roof? Also, could someone tell me what is the voltage to the thermostat.

    RV is coming unglued!

Thanks for the info. A good idea to sell to a hunter. Hadn't thought of that. Basically have just decided to 'unload' it. We loved it for the 6 years we lived in it and traveled the USA but as for how it was made ..... .not so much. - - - Updated - - - Thanks for the input. - - - Updated...

    RV is coming unglued!

yeah selling it (for scrap) seems to be the best option, especially since we really do not want to travel much at all, except to go to Europe when this virus thing is over. Actually, I doubt if there is much metal framing (in this situation) to attach to. I'm thinking of cutting off the roof...

    RV is coming unglued!

Er, we missed this completely. After coming off the road (24-7) and buying a new sticks/brick home (4 years ago) I kept it covered but evidently it had had a leak of some sort for quite some time without me being aware of it. Thinking seriously about either a 'patch' or just selling it for...

    RV is coming unglued!

x'cuse the humor(about coming unglued) but when you own a RV you have to have a sense of humor. Anyway, my problem is that my 5th wheel is coming apart literally at the seams. See attached picture. What I need help on is 'how do I repair this?" I have no idea. I've thought of metal strips...

FIX for warm refrigerator in 2012 Big Country Model 3690SL

I remember reading on this forum about the 'fix' for the warm refrigerator in the Big Country 3690SL, and the 'fix' for this problem was to mount a fan in the back of the refrigerator. I'd like to look at that answer/explanation again. Does anyone remember this or know where I might find it...

After a 'blowout' I don't have brake/signal lights on my RV

thanks for the reply - - - Updated - - - thanks for the reply - but I have no wires running up the slide. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to locate someone who owns my exact RV. Called the factory on Tuesday - but no response from them. Imagine that?

After a 'blowout' I don't have brake/signal lights on my RV

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I thought of that. Most toners cost $50 and up. I'm still hoping someone who owns a Heartland Big Country 3690 SL will see my post, walk outside and look up under his/her RV and see the wires I'm talking about and let's me know where they go. All I need to do is...

After a 'blowout' I don't have brake/signal lights on my RV

Had blowout around 4 pm - and backing RV into slot at the house (2 hours later) - my wife said - "you know you don't have any tail - lights?" Pretty sure these two things are connected. Thanks for the response. - - - Updated - - - Hey thanks for the response. The only thing 'not working'...

Had a blowout (right front tire on RV) One of the consenquences is I've lost my brake/signal lights on the RV (3690 SL Big Country) Had wires drooping down on my blowout - so I cut them and wirenutted them off, and saved the wires I removed. When I got the blowout replaced and made it to the...

Shower problem and how to disconnect sink in Bistro (Big Country Model 3690 Sl) Rear elevated kitchen

Thanks for the response. At first I didn't understand it. I am fully capable of finding the 'hot and cold' lines - RED is HOT and BLUE is COLD. Lol. What I meant to say (and what I was not 'clear' about) was how to find both the hot and cold lines "going to the sink in the bistro, "from the...

thanks for your response - the leak is on the back side of the valves and leaking down into the basement. - - - Updated - - - Yeah, I think it might of froze during the winter. And from your reply I'm pretty sure I'll have to change the valve. Good to know it's inexpensive (although I...

Shower problem and how to disconnect sink in Bistro (Big Country Model 3690 Sl) Rear elevated kitchen

First of all I want to say how appreciative I am that we have this site. It has helped me in the past and I hope I can gain some assistance this time also. First - I have a water leak in my shower which is puzzling to me. The leak "only starts leaking" when the water valves (in the shower)...

    To winterize or not

Thanks... exactly what I'm thinking. Thanks for the reminder of the drop light - I've done that before too. Also, we've just decided to take a trip to Florida (1st of November) to visit Grand-daughter so there's going to be even less days to worry about freezing weather. We'll probably be...

    To winterize or not

I've read quite a bit about the hassles of winterizing the rigs. My question is - we're leaving right after Christmas for California and I was trying to figure out a way to keep from winterizing the rig. We live in Oklahoma and it can go either way between now and Dec 26th. Freezing temps are...

    Maintenance on Front Lift Legs

Somewhere ... either here or in my manual I read about 'maintenance tips' on front lift legs (hydraulic). Can't seem to find it nowhere which I find "very odd." You'd think it would be easier found. Can anyone help?

Going to Residential Fridge - Wondering if there is 'real' market for the old one?

Going to be changing out my existing fridge (Norcold) in a couple of weeks and am wondering if there's an 'actual/real' market for the old one. Mine is a 4-door wood grain fridge (barely 3 years old and in good working order). We are changing it out because wife wants the added space. I can...

Residential Dishwasher "Perfect for Big Country 3960 SL" (rear kitchen)

Seems to me (just thinking not actually seriously plotting yet) that the Big Country 3690 SL (rear kitchen) is the perfect 5th wheel to add a residential dishwasher. 1st - The dishwasher would not be in a slide. 2nd - You would have easy access to the back of the dishwasher by opening the...

Norcold 1210 Floating clog; new cooling unit

I think you should 're-think' replacing your refer with a residential unit. I have heard too many success stories about replacing with residential to be afraid of it. Norcold Problems with Double Door Model 1210

I have pretty much the same problem with my Norcold and agree with you that it could be a 'design' problem that needs to be addressed by Norcold/Heartland. I will follow your thread and see what comes of it. As I mentioned I have a similar problem with my Norcold. In my case it suddenly...

    Improved Cooling for Norcold

Yeah I think my problem is "moving the 5th wheel," and though it may never happen again I must be prepared for it to strike after "any move." Appreciate your suggestions. Thanks! Oh yeah - I have tried it on propane with the same results which reinforces my idea that my problem is a 'gremlin'...

    Improved Cooling for Norcold

UPDATE: We moved our 5th wheel (135 miles). Weather about the same in both places (no dramatic differences). Guess what? Refrigerator started to work correctly. Temp inside Refrig while traveling (and on auto/propane) dropped to 22 degrees (was holding 40 degrees even with fans) when we...

Bill I was wondering if you had pictures of what you did to your refrig? If so.... maybe you could post them. I'm at a loss trying to picture 'things' in my head (my dad was an engineer but my brother got that trait not me, lol). Sounds to me that - "that is the problem with my refrig"...

    Improved Cooling for Norcold

UPDATE! I finally grasped (in my muddy mind) this whole thing. Bottom line - my baffle is perfectly cut and evidently is not my problem - which btw - is when the ambient temp gets around 90 degrees the temp inside the fridge gets up around 45 or 50. So far I've been able to solve this...
