Water Heater Troubleshooting & Repair Guide

Re: Water Heater Troubleshooting & Repair Guide is GONE!! Thanks for good info. I couldn't locate the check valve on the water heater output so I don't know if it is/is not working properly. Seems like it mst be since the LP mode keeps the water very hot. My rig has an Atwood water heater and...

Re: Water Heater Troubleshooting & Repair Guide is GONE!! Piggybacking on the "Why Removed?" question. Guide was usefful and informative. I am still trying to figure out why I can only get warm (not hot) water using the electric option. The LP heating option works fine and does provide hot...

Any Sources for "Warmer" LED Bulbs?

Thanks - that is what I was looking for. I had done some searches on Amazon and only found bulbs that had 4000K (or higher) ratings. I will try these.

Any Sources for "Warmer" LED Bulbs?

I recently changed out a few incandescent bulbs (921's and 1141's) with LED bulbs to see how the lighting would be affected. I installed "natural white" bulbs (color temperature 4000K-4500K) but feel that the light given off from the LEDs is much too cold. We prefer the softer lighting that the...

SOLVED: No 12 volt power when disconnected from shore power

Re: No 12 volt power available when disconnected from shore power Pulled 12volt panel. Checked voltage on the two large cables coming into the main breaker. Both the red cable (from battery mini breaker I think) and the black cable show fluctuating voltages between zero and 5 volts.

SOLVED: No 12 volt power when disconnected from shore power

Re: No 12 volt power available when disconnected from shore power Confirmed that I am checking the correct breaker (thick wires on both posts, reset button on side). I get a zero reading however when checking either of the breaker posts. What should I conclude/do next in this situation...

SOLVED: No 12 volt power when disconnected from shore power

Re: No 12 volt power available when disconnected from shore power I get a zero volt reading between the two posts on the mini breaker (after repressing the reset button too). Beginning to sound like it is a mini-breaker failure. Thoughts?

SOLVED: No 12 volt power when disconnected from shore power

Re: No 12 volt power available when disconnected from shore power Thanks Jon - good to know. Does this sound like a battery issue to you? Seems like I should get some output (however weak) from a battery reading above 12v?

SOLVED: No 12 volt power when disconnected from shore power

I have no 12 volt power when disconnected from shore power. Battery is reading 12.5V. I pressed the small battery reset button on the battery bus and that had no noticeable effect and did not correct the problem. When I turn off the 15 amp converter breaker in the power panel I immediately lose...

    Daleville, AL RV Show - April 9, 10 & 11, 2015

I think it is helpful to know where (i.e which RV shows) Heartland products can be seen. I also think the best way to share that info would be via this forum in a dedicated thread named "RV Shows with Heartland Products" (or something similar). Those of us who have an interest in knowing this...

GENESIS Power Light ON but nothing else works

System has power (red light in upper left is solid red) but nothing appears in the display window and nothing happens when buttons are pressed. Do I need to remove the unit and check something (???) or can the system be reset in some manner to restore functionality?

AC Tripped - unable to restore

Bill - I do have a volt meter which I used to confirm the 120V at the pedestal. Next step was to turn off 50amp breaker in coach, then reset the pedestal breaker. Then I disconnected and reconnected the power cord to the coach. I then turned the 50 amp breaker to on and I now have power ...

AC Tripped - unable to restore

First time I have had a 120 Volt outage and am not sure how to restore. Pedestal breaker at campground is working OK. I suspect power was lost from overload (tripped when starting the microwave while electric fireplace was operating). Main 50 amp breaker is not tripped (tried resetting it...

Power King Towmax tires on 2014 Bighorn

One thing for sure - the LT vs ST discussion is in no danger of ever going away or being "resolved" on this forum. My perspective is that tires are less likely to fail when: 1. The margin percentage of tire rating to rig load rating is as great as possible (basically meaning you should get...

    Interior Ceiling Lights Problem

2012 Big Country 3450 TS has two rows of lights in ceiling and one switch for each row (labels read "kitchen" and "living") 1. Noticed that wall surface near switch felt warm but lights were working. Shortly thereafter neither switch would light. 2. Confirmed that fuze #2 in fuze panel...

Lance and Everyone, Due to an unplanned need to head out west this fall, we must regrettably cancel our reservations for the Waxhaw event. That's the bad news. The good news is that at least we will be RVing for an extended period as we traverse this big country in our Big Country. Hope to...

We're in - and are looking forward to seeing some familiar Heartlanders again - this will be our 2nd rally. Park pics look great! We're in site 53, arriving 10/31 leaving on 11/4. Not sure how we got an ADA site (53) -- I'm kind of thick headed at times but don't think that fits the criteria...

Pocket Hose ( hose that grows)

They're not for everyone - BUT - for the price, the negligible weight, the ease of handling/storing when not in use, these hoses work great for for me. If you are a heavy duty hose user, you would probably be happier with the conventional brass fitted hose for the long haul. I like my pocket...

Lance, Sign us (that is my wife) up for Chocolate Chip Cheese Cake. It will of course be calorie free except for the "few" calories included just for taste purposes. By the way Dave's list shows us as Bill and Bennie - should be Bill and Beannie. Our first rally - sounds like a lot of fun is...

Another landing gear issue - I LOVE this forum

Although I haven't got anything noteworthy to add, I do identify with this scenario. This happened to us on the very first day we took delivery of our Big Country and this snafu was part of a series of "now what do I do" issues that hit us that first night we set up. A friendly RVer in the...

    Wet Storage Area

We just purchased our Big Country (yeah) in NY and and camped for ten days (4 locations) as we brought it home to Georgia. After the first night sleeping in our BC, I detected moisture in the starboard side of the carpeted "basement" area but attributed it to a cooler we had stored that could...
