2007 Sundance 3200ES Bedroom Slide water damage

I agree ... I just finished repairing the broken roller on the front bedroom slide. The rollers that are bolted ... well, really they're cheaply screwed with cheap, short cabinet screws, broke off and the slide started to "slide" on the framed opening of the camper wall. The broken screws...

    Repairing the black tank valve

I don't know though I do understand why they wold like it to be that way. I also understand that it's not a perfect world and "stuff" happens!

    Repairing the black tank valve

Check with the dealer 1st. When I asked about it they said the black tank had to be empty and sanitized for them to work on it. Not sure how one does that when it doesn't drain in the 1st place but that's what I was told.

    Repairing the black tank valve

I have the same issue with the black tank valve and I really like Gary's idea of putting the valve side of the RV up on blocks so the "stuff" can slosh to the other side of the tank! I wasn't sure how I was going to deal with this. And yes, I've flushed the tank till the cows came home and it...

ATF: Sundance - Roof rafter layout request for new vent install

Hello, I have a 2008 Sundance 2997BHS (#008804) and I want to install a new Fantastic Fan style vent in the back bunk house for added sunlight and air circulation. This obviously requires cutting a 14" square hole in my roof and I was hoping that I could get a drawing (or even a photograph) of...

    Cougar or Sundance..opinions

Biggziff, We have the unit below in my sig. While we've had several issues and problems with it ... i.e.: the shock mounts were welded to the frame in the wrong place, the shower leaks, tank sensors failing, someone in the factory went "staple gun happy" on the kitchen cabinets (and their aim...

Checking the propane level in tanks

With the Marshall 250 auto changeover regulator it will draw from both tanks ... first from the "Service" tank and then from the "Reserve" tank. You, the RV owner, turn the selector lever to the "Service" tank (whichever tank you want to use first) and the other tank becomes your "Reserve" tank...

    Towing a 3300 RLB Sundance

I pull a 2997BHS with a 2002 Chevy 2500HD D/A CC short box 4x4 and it pulls ... and stops ... just fine out here in NYS and surrounding areas. Though I don't full time or keep the RV loaded either so my weights may, or may not be, lower than others.

    Heat Strip questions???

I only have one 15K BTU a/c in the living room/kitchen area and that's where I put it. So, yes, it does blow through the a/c duct work. To use the heat strip, all I do is slide the switch on the thermostat to "Heat Strip" (or some such label), and set the temperature, again on the thermostat...

    Heat Strip questions???

I just added a heat strip to my a/c unit myself and it screwed right in. I was told by Dometic that it's a 1500w heater. Heartland was also "nice enough" to have already run the 7 (?) wire thermostat wire for me ... the units without the heat strip only need 6 (I think). Either way, the wire was...

Cyclone door locks not keyed alike???

I used to have different keys for the 2 doors on my Sundance 2997BHS. I ordered a whole new door lock/dead bolt assembly, keyed just like the other door, for around $30+\- (with shipping). I now have one key that fits both doors. It was extremly easy to install (only 4 phillips head screws). If...

    Propane fitting outside?

Do you have to worry about the propane psi? I remember reading somewhere that the psi needed for a gas grill, lantern, etc. is different than that needed for the RV appliances. Am I nuts on this?

    Fresh water pick up?

Bram, The thin wall S.S. tubing that I used almost goes to the middle of the tank and the slight bend (radius) that I put in the tube dips down toward the sag/bow in the tank so it should work as your describing ... though I don't think I'll ever get all of the water out (not even when I need...

    Fresh water pick up?

I just went through this on my '08 Sundance 2997BHS. I have a rectangle shapped tank that is mounted level with the frame (no slope what-so-ever). It has a port (or bung) that is glued/welded to the narrow side of the tank at the lower edge (as far down as it can). It has no pick-up tube and I...

    Fifth wheel hitch??

If you can stand another persons thoughts ... we have the Valley Industries "Husky" 16K dual pivot manual slider (we had it for our last 5th wheel). See sig for the vehical info. While I've never needed the slider to keep the front cap from hittting the truck cab/window, I have used it several...

    Couple of Mods

I would love to know where you got the doors also. Or did you make them? I want to put doors on the panel that covers the water pump and water heater bay (it would make it easier for winterization). Along with a few other doors for the strange "storage" pockets in various places in the kitchen...

    Portable dump tank

How do you carry your portable dump tank? I'm talking about the one you dump your RV waste tanks into and then tow to the dump station. I currently strap it in the bed of the truck but I'd like to figure out an easy way to hang it from the rear ladder. Any ideas? Thanks,

    JT's Level 1

I have the LVL-1 and love it. I still check with a short bubble level to verify, but only because I haven't had the LVL-1 that long (early last year and RV is hibernating for the winter right now). The only issue is it seemed to eat batteries, which is OK now that I know I need to bring spares...

    Took the plunge

Bob, I know you have to supply your own and that plain wood screws would last less than a roll of toilet paper. What I don't understand is why. I know you might want it in a differant spot than me, but again, why doesn't the RV industry supply them with the new RV's? It's just a silly thing...

    Took the plunge

I know our 2997BHS ('08 model year) didn't come with, of all things, a toilet paper holder. Honestly, what do they (the RV industry) think we do in there????

    Bottoming out w/ Sundance 3200

Calvin, I have a 2997BHS (5" shorter than yours) that I pull with a 2002 Chevy 4x4 Crewcab shortbox (6 foot). I have the 6k# axles and 16" wheels from Heartland. I have a MUCH steeper driveway entrance than your photo shows. I come close to hitting, but haven't touched the driveway or road...

H.O.T.E.L.: Help for folks who need a hand on the road

Count me in (as a provider) - especially since my truck almost left us (camper, wife and two little kids) stranded while coming home this past weekend. Not a good feeling turning the key and the starter just cranks and cranks and cranks and cranks and cranks, etc. Hey, at least i know my...

    Parts ordering

    Vinyl floor seam sealer

I have a few cuts in my vinyl flooring that need to be sealed. Right now the cuts are nice and straight (like from a razor knife ) and clean. Do I need to use a certain brand of seam sealer or can I just pick up "whatever" brand at my local home store? Thank you,

    Window "fake" curtain things

Well, I can get them from Heartland. They're a bit more than I wanted to spend ... which was probably around 10 bucks for the whole thing :D. They really aren't an unreasonable price from Heartland, I just don't want to spend that much money on something I don't need. But I can get the...

    Window "fake" curtain things

fishin2dmax, How does one go about contacting the factory and convincing them to sell direct to me? I'd very much like to do this, as long as I don't have to sell my first born. Wait a minute, that's not such a bad idea after all. Who wants a 5 year old boy? He always listens to his mommy and...

    Window "fake" curtain things

We have an 08 Sundance 2997BHS that has the normal fake curtain things that always catch the shades when you move them up and down. It's really a pain in the ... uhh ... back side. I was wondering if I can purchase a some of the new style to install myself? Someone else mentioned "Lambrequin...

    Main door locks and keys

Our Sundance has two doors, each with a different key (one main and one large storage door in the back). These are not to be confused with the storage compartment "571" keys. Both of these are the normal door locks/handle like thing that is common on all, or most, RV main/front doors. My...

    2998RB Bunkhouse Question

Water leak around Sundance bunk slide

cj11302000, We have a 2008 2997BHS and, so far, have not had any water getting into the rear bunk slide area. Could you have someone spray the slide seal area with the water hose (don't use to strong of a stream) while your inside looking for the water? I've never done this, so I don't know...

Family Search ~ 1st Fifth Wheel

saint5er, We have the 2997BHS and love it. It's a tad bit longer than I wanted, but by only one foot ... I can live with that! It tows like a dream, much better than our last 31 footer.
