Alternative To using Chlorine Bleach to Sanitize your Fresh Water System - Purogene

Sodium Chlorite is a precursor to produce Chlorine Dioxide. It doesn't magically do this by itself. You must use chlorine or acid to activate it. Left to dry out it will spontaneous combust. Commercially it is supplied in as low as 3% solution for small applications and at much higher...

    Trailer brake question

I polish the surfaces where the ground wire attaches, frame on the truck and frame near the junction box before I check anything else. Then start going to each drum and doing the complete inspection as many have outlined, if the ground don't improve braking Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk

    Ford F150 Keyless Entry Code

Most of if not all of you know you can lock the truck or car by pressing the last two numbers at the same time. Use this a lot to leave the truck running with the puppy inside to keep here cool or warm if she has to wait a while.

Dometic Brisk 2 or Penguin 2

I installed a Dometic to match the main ducted unit in the BR. Took a couple hours and it works well. Bought the heat strip as well which really takes the chill off in a hurry. Best upgrade we ever did on the Augusta. Got it for sale now and will actually miss it.

    Antifreeze odor in hot water.

The odor issue is pretty common with the braided hose instead of pex which was used for a number of years. High mineral content, the anode are all partially responsible. The water hose you are using may be part of the problem as well. White hoses are for the most part add a bit of odor to the...

We tow an Augusta with absolutely no issues through the mountains and across the plains. We did order the GVW pkg and 20 inch tires/wheels to handle the pin weight.

    2011 Landmark August Shocks Disconnected????

We took off the shocks when we installed 8K axles and Trail Air Equalizers. Don't miss them at all and the coach rides perfectly. Things stay on the counters when forgotten to remove them.

    Black Hills and Estes Park

Anyone staying in Elk Meadow lodge/park should have something to put under their slide covers if equipped. It is very windy with the down draft and will keep you awake with the awnings flapping. Otherwise very nice place and a great place to stay.

    Tow Vehicle Brakes

We are over 90K on the truck with original pads and they are less than 1/2 used. I drive like Jim and certainly use the exhaust brake/gears and anticipate having to stop. Quite a bit of mountain driving as well and we live in the Ozarks so any trip sees plenty of hills. I did install heavy axles...

    Another BLOMAX victim, yet again....

Something that many folks don't factor in is traveling in a strong cross wind. A wind over 20 mph or so puts considerable more weight on the down wind tires. This will certainly make them run hotter and if you are close to the maximum pay load then perhaps a blow out. Tow Max tires probably...

    Gear ratio 4:10 or 3:73??

Same here unless the computer says earlier, and it hasn't in 100K of all types towing. I never see high engine or transmission temps with diligent driving. Our motorhome has a 20k oil change interval and one of the new JD;s now has 500 hours listed. 500 hours would easily be 25K miles.

    RM1350 IMBS Better cooling suggestions

I did all Dave described as well as insulating the top of the fridge. Helped a lot and was able to actually stay below 40 with the doors opening during the day. You certainly cant have it in the sun and high temp inside and keep it cool. The slide cover helped a bit as well.

    Fresh water tank won't fill

Our Yellowstone had a valve to fill the fresh water tanks but the Augusta doesn't . You have to fill it via the gravity fill opening. Does your Torque actually have valve settings to fill the fresh water tanks via pressure?

    Camping locations large enough?

We have camped in a lot of states and campgrounds. during the busy seasons it has been a challenge without reservations even being creative when parking to always get a site that will fit. Tire inflation in the cold weather?

Maybe this was covered somewhere in the post, the real deal is how heavy are your tires loaded? If you have a decent safety factor then 10-15 pounds on a 110-125 psig rated tire in cool weather don't mean anything. No need to worry one bit. If your tires are running on the warm side in cool...
