    Front, door side leak -where?

hmmm... well the awning did take a beating in a sudden squall and one bracket was ripped off. I repaired that one and it's not near the leak - but there IS a bracket near the leak that looks good - but I did not check it. And... as noted there is a window in the area - I'm considering taking...

    Front, door side leak -where?

I'm still stumped here. I've gone into the rig after each heavy rain and cannot find any signs of water. However I am seeing some deformation of the wall panel in this area both inside and outside. It's like the water is getting inside the panel and must be getting pulled into the end of the...

Any tips to R/R the cloroplast?

The cheap OSB sounds smart - I'll be on gravel or grass too. I like the bucket idea too - plenty of spackle buckets lying around for that.

Any tips to R/R the cloroplast?

I've got to start taking the cloroplast undebelly off to figure out why my fresh water tank dropped out. It looks like I can just pull the self tappers and maybe make a few small slits to free up brake wires and plumbing penetrations and drop it? I'm looking for any tips that will help me...

    Front, door side leak -where?

OK, I'm stumped. The gap I remembered on the end-cap was on the rear, not the front. It's not at all clear to me where this water is coming from. Is there a list of usual suspects to check/correct?

    Front, door side leak -where?

I was afraid of that - the laminate itself seems fine I guess you are saying I should expect that the subsurface will be shot when I get it out? I wonder if I can get the laminate and nosing off intact and apply them to a new counter. Well... first things first - gotta make sure I eliminate...

    Front, door side leak -where?

I'm hoping the roof leak is as easy as just caulking - we will see. I found a place where the end-cap meets the roof that seems to have shifted and opened a gap I can caulk up and hope. Yep - I'll admit I'm frustrated, so don't hear this as flaming back at the "what do I expect in 4 years"...

    Front, door side leak -where?

At dinner DW casually announced she had just been in the RV and I need to add a delaminated counter top to the (growing) list of things to fix in our Cyclone. I asked when she had planned to mention this... In any case it looks like water is coming down the wall in the bedroom and must have...

    Easyflex question

This weekend I had a pair of my shackle links pull out, so I'm in the market to upgrade my suspension before the rest of it fails. For those who did it - how did you match up the right Dexter kit? Is axle spacing enough to get all the right parts?

    t-shooting fuel station timer

That was my thinking too... maybe next weekend if I get some time to fiddle with it. I am looking for any experiences others have had or bone-head things NOT to do. Seems straight forward enough but I have not seen a schematic for it and have been surprised on stuff like this before.

    t-shooting fuel station timer

I got the advice to put 12v direct on the pump... any ideas how to do that? I mean... the whole idea of the timer/switch inside is to make that hard so no one can pump my tank.

    t-shooting fuel station timer

I rarely use my fuel station but always liked having it. During hurricane Irene I found out too late that my fuel station stopped working. I cannot get the timer to start. I pulled it apart and jumped the first switch - still nothing. I'm guessing the timer module is shot. Can I just jump...

    Wind popped our awning

Last week we had our awning out when a small squall came through. Didn't expect much wind so I just tilted it down and went inside. Unfortunately we were along a river and within minutes POP! a gust came through and pulled one side of the awning off the supports. I was able to wrestle it back...

Wrong time on cell phone question

Did VZ have an answer for you? I'm curious actually... I never had TZ issues until I got a global smartphone. The first time I had trouble was in Jerusalem... outside the old city the phone was fine, inside it jump back 5 hours - kind of bad since it was my only clock at the time. Now (back...

H.O.T.E.L.: Help for folks who need a hand on the road

FWIW - another way to be an intermediary for help would be to have a thread here where people could ask for what they need. I've been helped in other forums this way. In any case... I am always encouraged by the generosity of people who are simply sure their help is needed and they are not...

    Rig/Truck weighing Procedure

You can weigh twice on a CAT scale and the second weigh is discounted. To get the key numbers you need to weigh twice. Once truck only, once hitched up. You will get weights for steer, drive and trailer as well as the gross. The speakers on those scales are designed by the same people who...

H.O.T.E.L.: Help for folks who need a hand on the road

Is this operating now and has anyone gotten help? I'm curious if it got going and how it was working, is there a directory now? on edit: OK I found the directory in the sticky. Are people finding help? Curious as I'd be willing to help when I'm around but not so eager to put a phone number...

    t-shooting the converter

failed at step 5 above. Progressive Dynamics offers refurbished units with new warranty for $100 (with the core return). Ours arrived today. Installed easier than it came out... would have been dead simple if the plumbing wasn't in the way. All working now. (just two more nuisance failures...

    Oven dead

Got side tracked fixing my converter/charger (the list of minor early life failures grows...) so now back to the stove. Found the paperwork and it only has a 12 month warranty. I can't find an exploded parts diagram or much info on the stove on-line, still not even sure what to start pulling...

    t-shooting the converter

yep John... that's pretty much where I found mine buried. I had to remove two basement panels and wrestle around the water lines to get at the fuses. Current state of t-shooting: AC power is good at the outlet and the plug is firmly in. All three 25A fuses are good. DC power at outlet...

    t-shooting the converter

Awesome - thanx so much! There's no way I can see to get at that from the front - looks like I'm going in through the basement. At least now I know what I'm looking for! Again... I cannot figure out why so many serviceable items are buried behind the basement walls - guess it looks neater.

    t-shooting the converter

There's an AC breaker I found and bunch of fuses in the load center (all good). But I have not found any 30A DC fuses (yet)... I am hoping this is the issue - cheaper and easier then replacing the whole thing for sure.

    t-shooting the converter

It looks like my converter just gave up on me. No 12V anywhere. I found a main AC breaker for it (not tripped). AC is fine. I'm currently charging the battery with an external charger so I'll be able to operate the rig. Are there other fuses buried in there somewhere? Looks like I need to...

    Oven dead

OK... I've got spare time now - any advice on "oven won't light" before I get DW to call the manufacturer? I cannot get the pilot to light at all now (and yes... I assume I've got gas since the stove lights/burns full out). So it seems something's stuck closed and won't let any gas run? If...

    Oven dead

We have a 2009 - we are in our third year... didn't think about warranty longer than 12 months - that would be nice. wrt to component quality... I think the oven is something that normally gets minimal use so issues could go unnoticed in many cases. For other components I've now replaced about...

Is it just me... every time I come back to this forum after any time away I will do a "reply". I write up my post, look at the buttons, and hit the "reply" button again. It wipes out everything I'd just written and give me a new blank form. I know why the forum is coded with the reply...

3950 Roof - Is this "normal"?

Just checked in and wondered what happened too? In our case the repair also took a very long time (dealer issue not HL issue) and we inquired about driving it to the factory. At that time the factory was not set up to do repair. In our case btw we were told this was an assembly defect and not...

    Oven dead

We may be unusual... but we use our oven. Last night it died and this is an issue. I noticed the pilot was hard to light but I eventually got it lit. However over night the pilot went out and will not light again. At first I thought I'd lit it but then I realized I'd actually lit the...

    jumpy motor on landing gear

For sure! I'm sure I would not have thought of that but it looks like it will work. For sure the generator box is not coming out without the generator coming out - so basement seems the way to go. I was able to squeeze in and grab the motor. I guess the play is pretty much "only" an inch or...

    re-wiring my 7pin

plug and test worked and the wiki is right for the colors on the RV side. I had a new 7 pin cable with different colors but the documentation on that one was right so I matched them all up first shot. I can confirm the second blue (the wire NOT in the extra romex like jacket) is not a brake...

    re-wiring my 7pin

    re-wiring my 7pin

Right, yes I'm sure about some of this. The power lead up to the switch did not pull apart and is still attached, the switched power (brake-blue) comes back from the switch and was also still attached to a blue wire (but loose now). There is a SECOND blue leaving the box. My first thought was...

    jumpy motor on landing gear

that would be the issue... It's up there on top of the genny compartment and I'm not sure how to get access. If it was more accessible I think I'd pull it and look at it... but in this case I'm concerned that IF I get it off I may never get it back on? Actually an exploded view diagram of...

    jumpy motor on landing gear

So... I had to replace the switch on my front jacks because it failed. Just finished wiring the new one back and I was looking around in there to figure out if everything was now good. Well - I noticed that the motor that runs the landing gear seems to barely be bolted in? I mean, when I...

Landing gear - switch and resettable fuse

finally got to this. Easy enough to match the wire with the fuse and the other colored wire. I buzzed out the ground and connected it to the short black as noted here. Works fine except... EXTEND retracts and RETRACT extends. But, this means that pressing the top raises the nose and pressing...
