    Tow vehicle question

Great choice ... you will be much happier with a 3/4 or 1 ton. If you plan on keeping the truck for quite some time think long and hard about getting a diesel. Not only do they last longer if properly taken care of, the resale is much better as well.

User having a problem connecting to forum

What browser is he using? Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Chrome? It's very difficult to troubleshoot issues like this without having the PC in front of me. If other pages seem to load ok send me a PM and I can troubleshoot it remotely if needed.

    Tow vehicle question

I have to second the opinion of not towing anything over 30' with a 1/2 ton.

    Any Ar15 Addicts?

I am a big fan of the "black gun". I have a RR with removable flat top. I use it to hunt coyotes and gophers. I am waiting on my form 1 to come back from BATF to build a suppressed SBR in 9mm on a Rock River lower.

    Spring Creek CG ... Again

T and I are here again just outside Big Timber MT. Bob and Patty are here with their Big Horn, they are great people. It's nice to finally meet some other Heartland owners from the forum.

    Driving through Yellowstone

We just returned from the park a few hours ago. Norris Junction to Madison Junction is experiencing 30 minute delays with traffic being choked down to 1 lane. There was HEAVY traffic in the park this trip as it is the heart of tourist season. We prefer to go to the park in September as the...

Spring Creek - Big Timber, MT

We try and come up at least a few times a year. It's only an hour drive from home and the CG is always great. The hosts here are very nice as well.

Spring Creek - Big Timber, MT

We are at Spring Creek just outside Big Timber, MT. There is a Big Country at the other end of the CG but every time I have walked by there is nobody home.

Jim, I'll jump in here as I think I can see where you are going with your questions ... If I am off base let me know a little more about the specifics and I will do my best. A static IP is recomended but not 100% necessary. Using a dynamic DNS client to update DNS when your IP changes is...

Maiden Voyage in our ER 34QSRL

We are currently out on our maiden voyage with our new 29RKSA. So far nothing unexpected, the tow was effortless although I may need to increase the rear tire pressure in my TV as there was just a hint of bouce. This is most likely due to the road we travelled. Keep enjoying your Elk Ridge...

Richard, Sorry to hear you will not be able to make the trip. Hope you get to feeling better soon. If you reschedule your trip this way keep me posted. J.

    Montana (The State) - Rally/Club?

Bob, Glad to hear you may be bringing your rig. Spring Creek is NOT the Big Timber KOA and if I can put my .02 in stay away from the KOA. I sent you a PM with my contact information, if you want to give me a call I can elaborate a little more on the Big Timber KOA. Here is the link to Spring...

    Montana (The State) - Rally/Club?

I should have remembered you were'nt bringing your Bighorn ... you said that earlier. The Greycliff area is nice. I used to work bees all over Sweet Grass County, we had a lot of hives up that boulder valley. We'll for sure get together for at least a meal. J

Rick, I'll chime in here because I am an authorized reseller of Synology products. The Synology products are for all intents and purposes a small computer whose only purpose it to store data. This computer has different types of applications written for it that provide different ways to get...

Camp Kitchen w/ Charcoal Grill and Gas Burner

I've been unsuccessful thus far in finding what I am looking for. My old outback TT had an "outdoor kitchen" that consisted of 2 gas burners - I used this heavily in tandem with a portable grill. What I am looking for now is a portable camp kitchen that has 1 gas burner as well as a charcoal...

    Montana (The State) - Rally/Club?

If its not an imposition Tracy and I could probably meet you in Bozeman at Sunrise. We may both have to work a bit during the day because its mid week but working from the RV is better than working from the office.

Do you have an estimated date of arrival in Bozeman? I am wanting to get up there to see Marty and Mary Jo at Sunrise Campground, they have been friends of the family for many years.

    Montana (The State) - Rally/Club?

HA ... I used to own a Keystone Outback TT. They had an online community as well but the attitude in the forum was nothing like ive seen here. My folks have owned Hitch Hikers since I was a kid. They never have participated in the local Hitch Hiker gatherings, and I always told them they...

I'm located in Billings and grew up between here an Big Timber in Columbus. We are taking the new Elk Ridge to Spring Creek outside Big Timber over the 4th for our first outing. The sports arena ... well ... the brick is still there :) The roof is all but gone. I have heard (nothing in the...

I second the Harbor Freight cameras. I have used them on several occasions as a more cost effective solution for some of my clients businesses. I also HIGHLY recommend having the recording system on a UPS. Another important aspect I always recommend for those not going with a commercial...

    4WD vs 2WD

I would never think of owning a 2WD here in MT, or anywhere for that matter. I would much rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it.

In speaking with the dealership yesterday they were very adamant that "they" would do the PDI before I even got there. I am still trying to figure out the most polite way to tell them I want to be there during the PDI. Without getting too much off topic - do you have a good pdi checklist? -J.

    Montana (The State) - Rally/Club?

New user here. We hope to take delivery of our Elk Ridge 29RK next week. Previous rig was a 2005 Outback 25RS-S TT. Decided to make the jump to a 5er and a new truck and I'm confident we will have no regrets. Are there any other MT or WY residents around here? I would be very interested in...
