A&E Slide Topper Problem

Over the past few months I have noticed my large living room slideout has been making a click, click, noise when running the slide in or out. Finally today I had a chance to look at it and it appears the slide topper awning is failing.

The holes in the roller tube have become enlarged or elongated to where the pin is no longer centered. Looking at the tube, it looks like the end caps are riveted on. Not sure if this is a fixable thing or if I need a whole new awning.

Has anyone else experienced this? All my other awnings are fine, but it makes sense the large one would fail first. It's only about 3 years old so this seems a pretty early failure.

We had the same problem, we had to replace the roller.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Do you recall the cost offhand, and, is it a DIY job or something that needs to be done by a pro? I'm handy, but anything with spring tension usually scares me.
