Awning Covers

Does anyone have or has anyone tried those snap on awning covers that can be left on while traveling? I live in Arizona and the sun just tends to eat things alive out here in the wild, wild west. Just wondering if purchasing one of those covers would be worth the investment. I have not tried one as of yet and my awning is still in pretty good shape, but wondered if a cover might extend the life of my awning somewhat. If you have had some experience or even an education or non-educated opinion, please share. Thanks in advance, I think! Enjoy traveling but be safe out there!!
