Fridge with cover on

Hello All,
I have a question that may sound stupid. I know that the refrigerator needs to be vented while working on gas but am wondering about when running on electric. I put my cover on last week for the winter but still have access to power. With Thanksgiving coming up the extra refridgerator space would be great. The question is can I safely run the fridge on electric with the cover on. I know it breaths but can't be that much. I am guessing the answer is do not turn it on but looking for some experienced opinions. My first cover. lol.

Whether running on propane or electric, your refrigerator is removing heat in order to cool the refrigerator. That heat has to vent in order for the refrigerator to operate correctly. I don't recommend covering the vent with the refrigerator in operation.
