While playing the television through the stereo, the sound stops. I have to shut the u it off for a few seconds then turn it back on. It will work for 4-5 then shut off again. Then repeat process. I would say it's getting hot but I point a fan right at it and it doesn't help.

thoughts?

Junk it, after 5 of those I purchased a Sony surround sound. End of problem

Just curious as to which Sony receiver you bought?

Not at the fiver right now but purchased it at best buy for around 300$ it has a standalone subwoofer powered by 120 ac and a volume control on the back of the sub. Works great
