Hantavirus Outbreak In Yosemite National Park

I certainly would not stay in their cabins..the virus spreads through mouse feces and urine. But that is why we have campers - so we can stay in our own mouse free houses on wheels. Should be a reminder to keep the rodents out of your camper though.

One day I'll put something clever in here.

Please keep in mind this is an airborne virus and just being in the area regardless of where you stay can affect you. Just a heads up... I do believe the first case and death from Hantvirus was here in AZ on the Navajo Reservation.

Sadly this virus raises it's ugly head ever so often. Just happens to be in a very high profile area, this time. It is usually contracted in close quarters where there is a high concentration of mouse feces. Early cases were by people who were sweeping old cabins or barns. It's something that you have to be aware of in the desert SW. Even here in Texas, I am careful to wear a mask when sweeping where there are signs of mice. Better yet, hose out the area if possible.
