After shelling out $100 for a new icemaker, I got on the internet and found a workaround fix for the problem, by connecting 2 internal wires together to defeat the photoelectric "Ice Full" detector that evidently malfunctions. The only drawback is that the icemaker now will not shut off when full of ice, but you can keep an eye on it, and turn off the power switch as needed.
