Transfer switch issues

I agree with Dan. Intermittent power sounds like loose connection(s). When I finally discovered my loose connections in the J-box, the wires were scorched from arcing. I never had the problem again after that.

Come to think of it I did open the j box and moved the wires around Pryor to adding the oil. The wires appeared to be secure with the wire nuts and had the liquid electrical tape on them.

That's a plus if they were landed correctly to begin with. Mine had no electrical tape on them and only a few strands of copper was making contact. Have you checked the lugs inside the transfer switch.
