Water Heater Problem

I am having a problem and have traced it appears to be the rocker switch in the outside panel. I cannot figure out how to remove the switch to test it. 2008 Big Horn 3600RL.
Thanks

Hello Billhealy and welcome to the forum. Lots of great information here along with a lot of great people.
I moved your post to its own thread.
I am pretty sure that the switch just pops out. You will need a small screwdriver to do it.
How did you determine that it is the switch that is the problem?
Did you check for voltage at both sides of the heating element?
Have you checked the hi/low cutoff sensors?
Here is a link to our water heater user guide found in the 'Tools' menu at the top of the page.
It may be helpful.

Peace

Here is a picture of the suburban switch used for the electric element on the Suburban water heaters. This should give you an idea on how to pry out the switch.

Hi billhealy,

I assume you don't have power at the AC thermostat leading you to conclude that the rocker switch is bad. Have you also checked the wires on the switch inside to make sure you have power there?

You may find additional help in our Water Heater Troubleshooting Guide.

All good posts, but also reminds me that there has been a couple threads a while back, about the wirenuts burning up in the junction box on the side of the water heater.
