New Member - Re: Purchase of 2014 3010RE

We love our 3010RE! I load it with an average amount of items (We don't full time though) and my 2007 (Classic) 2500HD diesel pulls without a problem. We haven't switched tires out yet and the Blowmax tires that are on it have about 5000 miles on them. We will be replacing them this coming...

    FX 23 Generator suggestions?

Thanks for mentioning that. I forgot. It won't run my AC on my Bighorn, but everything and anything else on my BH it will. I ran my 13,500 BTU AC on my last camper no problem at all, and even a TV and a couple of other small items when the AC was running. But I did have to start the AC and let...

    FX 23 Generator suggestions?

I have owned a Honda 1k, Honda 2k, Powerhouse 3100 and 2x Yamaha 2400is. My favourite so far has been the Yamaha 2400 series. they weigh in at about 60lbs or so I think?? It had enough power to run absolutely everything in my last camper with ease and very quiet and fuel efficient. I have done...

    Tire Chains?

On my GMC 2500HD, the passenger side rear tire does the pushing (If you don't have posi) and the front drivers side does the pulling. If I find the conditions harsh enough for chains (Which are very rare) I put them on all 4 and "X" strap them with a winch tie down on the exterior of the tire...

How to make your night driving easier for all you Dodge owners

I had 2 light force 6" off road lights, and recently swapped them out with a 20" LED "E series combo" light bar from Rigid Industries. MAN it throws light. highly recommend it. It is this one...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

Our laws are very far from perfect,..but we are the only free country (That I am aware of) that is slowing chipping our way back from underneath our once totally (Think almost as bad as California,..not quite, but almost) totally over the top gun control legislation. Registry for our long guns...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

I for one am a card carrying conservative, a gun rights advocate and an advocate for pretty much anything that involves safer communities. And to me, my perfect world would look very much like Switzerland and Canada, with the entire civilian population (Over 16) trained in hand to hand combat...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

On duty, a S&W stainless 9mm. However I always have a Benelli Super Nova Tactical with C-stock and a Rossi Ranch hand in my personal truck (Except when traveling in the US)…I have never even looked into transporting firearms into the states. I am SOOOOOOOOOO jealous of your CCW laws down in the...

    Dealer frustration

Woodys RV in Edmonton has been AWESOME to deal with!! Once you get past the whole "Lets make a deal" salesmen (But ours was much different), what an awesome business model they have. Parts guys actually know what they are talking about, Service advisors couldn't possibly be better. Top notch all...

ATF: Bighorn - Electric Fireplace failures

Had a failure of our as well. It was used a fair bit for about a month total. The shop didn't say what happened, just that it was being replaced under warranty. I also would love to hear any mods that make this new one more efficient, or more effective. This time it was covered under...

Circulating Heat to the Underbelly Area

I have camped in my 3010RE down to -26c (I think that is about -15f??) for a full week. I ran my furnace the entire time even when I was gone for a day or two, and I had about 10lbs of propane left in the second tank. I wouldn't be to concerned at all about it. Like Birchwood said,…We are...

Banff and Jasper thoughts…first timer here!

Feel free to PM me with contact info. I live only a couple hours from Jasper and have traveled to Jasper and Banff and the surrounding area many many times. I prefer Jasper to Banff, but only because it is smaller, and somewhat less tourist traffic. Although both are very busy in summer. I would...

    Washer/Dryer Prep in 2014 4000

I too had a stacked washer/dryer installed at the dealership upon purchase. They did an awesome job with installation and venting. The exterior vent is a highly polished stainless steel vent on the outside wall. Looks and functions awesome that way. I would take pics for you, but the 5ver is...

    Custom Aluminum roof access ladder

Thanks for the feedback guys! Stainless vs. Aluminum might be getting into the $1000's in difference in price. I will call around and perhaps take the 5ver to a couple of local shop and see what they can come up with in terms of design and price. Maybe they can even build me a bumper for the...

    Custom Aluminum roof access ladder

As some of you may know, my factory Attwood ladder busted on me while I was climbing up to sweep off the slide out tops. Big Horn/Heartland comes through on Warranty

Well, After a season of using our Bighorn 3010RE, and an extremly thourough shakedown, there were several issues that needed to be addressed via the 1 year factory warranty. The list of items is below; 1- The fireplace was making an awful racket when turned on. SOLUTION- Bighorn/Heartland is...

Help winterizing my 2014 BH 3750 RS

Oh,..and forget to pull the plug out of your hot water heater (You will need a 1 1/16" socket) and fully drain your hot water tank, check your anode for deterioration and then replace it with fresh teflon tape.

Help winterizing my 2014 BH 3750 RS

Yes, After the bypass valve has been turned to the correct position, you will have to find a 18-30" long piece of hose (I cut off the end of a spare RV fresh water hose I had laying around). You then need to have someone hold the hose and the antifreeze jug so you can go inside and operate the...

rear ladder bent and broke on 2013 2950RK

Well I demanded that Either Heartland or Attwood replace mine with a higher quality, heavier duty ladder. I wiegh in at 210lbs, and there is no reason why the first step up a ladder should break on both sides. Heck I was only trying to get on the roof to sweep some pine cones off of the...

rear ladder bent and broke on 2013 2950RK

On a month long trip this past summer, my ladder broke on both sides where the first rung of the ladder connects to the 2 bottom supports attach to the 5ver. It is now in the shop for a list of warranty items that I wanted to get done before my 1 year warranty expires. I can post an update...

So, I picked the coach up from the dealer today (Which once again provided FANTASTIC service)!!! I tried replacing the 10A fuse with a 15A fuse yesterday,..and it blew the 3 that I tried while I was trying to troubleshoot. I have booked it into the dealership,..warranty can take care of it now. I spent my whole weekend trying to sort it out. Thanks for all your suggestions guys/gals! I...

Water pump, Yeti Pkg heaters won't work and battery is not charging

I pulled both of the rocker switch panels and the 12v fuse panel out yesterday and inspected each wire and connection. I suspect a staple of screw has punctured a wire somewhere along the line.
