Filled my water tank and drove 2 miles to the Walmart to load up for camping trip. Noticed water leaking out of the belly. Drive back home and cut underbelly because I could see a large square shape in the plastic. The factory sits the water tank between 2 pieces of angle iron with a 3" strap...
I picked mine up 4 days ago and woweee what a difference from the 06 6.0. Quite, powerful and full of nice things: sync, nav. And as a bonus I found out mine is yet to recieve the flash for the power update.
Fuel quality is not poor but some of the smaller stations that don't move much product can get water from sitting for a while. I always carry a set of fuel filters cause you never know. If you have the fortune to fill up after the tanker fills the tank, you may need one.
Last time I went through a scale we were allowed 17,000kg / 37400lbs on a tandem. Most of the heavy hauls in Alberta run tridems. This build should be a piece of cake for you.
Yep it will be real nice in the winter. Will probably have an anti idle shut down so you can't warm it up either. But then I see the idiots with the hopped up diesel pick ups belching huge black clouds of smoke at the traffic lights and think I have them to thank.
Montana is a great state, It's close to Alberta! I paid $57 to register our trailer for life. My truck as a commercial vehicle is $250/year, but it was only personal it would only be $57.
Hey Mike, at least you only get it without KY every once in a while. Some of us have to pay it all the time. I can order parts out of the US, pay shipping and UPS brokerage fee and tax and still come out ahead by quite a bit.
Me thinks a turbo is a major part. Ever try driving a diesel without one?;)
On further thought how a class 8 ($150,000)only have 2 years warranty when my lowly Ford ($60,000)has 3 years. What the heck!
The world junior hockey championships are on right now. Canada vs US on tuesday. Should be a dandy game at the Credit union Center. Act Canadian, put on a toque, grab a beer and watch some hockey! And don't forget your lumberjack jacket
As does mine but i find it inadequate for my needs as it lets it get too cold before it warms up. I use mine a mobile office and am in it all day. The 6.0 came prewired for a high idle all you need to do is add a switch.
Might not be the best thing for it. My 6.0 can idle for 10 hours a day when i am at work and it hasn't hurt it. I have a high idle switch that bumps the rpm to 1200. I have many friends with the 6.4L and theirs idle as well. I would reccomend the high idle to help keep the engine warm.
