A/C and Furnace at same time

I was away last weekend with a few chilly nights. When I put the furnace on, the A/C (or at least the A/C fan) was coming on at the same time as the furnace. I tried putting the temp up, down, cycling the system on, then off - but nothing fixed the problem. I finally just flipped the breaker on the A/C so that the furnace would run solo.

The odd thing is that I used the furnace in the spring without a problem.

Has anybody experienced this? I'm assuming the thermostat on the wall is faulty. I've been thinking of replacing it with a better unit anyway (I did that on my last trailer - SOB). Has anybody seen a post on a step-by-step mod for this?

Set the fan to auto, not high or low and it will operate as it should. It's in the thermostat manual.

Yep set the fan to auto, that will fix it.

Thanks - I wasn't aware it had been changed (since the spring) - or that the fan setting had options, since I don't think I've ever used the fan-only setting. I'll give it a good look over.

Change the mode to FAN and press the + or - button to change it to AUTO.
