Need for battery box in 5th wheel?

I've just "purchased" two new group size 27 batteries (OK, free replacement of one with second purchased at same time). I have a Cyclone 5th wheel with a single, vented battery box. I want to put both batteries into a single box, but am having difficulty finding a double size box. Would a battery tray, like a regular RV suffice? The space is shared with the hydraulic system and the passenger side landing gear. There looks to be plenty of natural ventilation thanks to the large square hole cut into the floor for the landing gear, along with the original side vent. My only real concern would be a battery leaking liquid.

Contact Heartland and see if you can order the double box like the one they put in other fifthwheels. Mine is a double with connections on the outside and a built in vent.

I pull my duel battery box out of my LM 365 here are the dimensions to see if that's what you need. You can have this one come get it. LOL 16" wide 15" deep 13" tall not counting the drain and top vent hole

You might try this site.

http://www.allbatterysalesandservice.com/browse.cfm/2,610.html

I changed out the single 12 volt battery in my Sundance for two 6 volt batteries. I bought the new battery box from these folks. I don't know if the battery box
in your Cyclone is a through the floor type as mine was. I had to enlarge the hole in the floor pan and make brackets that held the box in place. Here are a couple of pics.

Jerrod, I think your 4 batteries may be incorrectly connected to do proper charging. One link I found that discussed this is at http://www.marxrv.com/12volt/12volt.htm
and a better description is at http://caravanchronicles.com/guides/how-to-connect-two-batteries-in-parallel/

I used these articles when connecting my (just 2) batteries in parallel.
I changed the wires around well see if it makes a difference. Thanks for pointing that out

Jerrod,

Nice professional wiring job. Where did you get your hardware (wires, grommets, etc.)?
I made my own wires with the $33 crimp tool and the battery lugs, I found on Amazon

The rubber grommets are big rig glad hand seals for connecting the air lines from the the truck to the trailer. You can get them at any truck parts place. I wish I had some of the good ones to show you. I'll get some tomorrow

Installed left side of generator adjacent to the hydralic pump. Fit perfect.
Bought my box's same place as Bogie (#10). Hoses, which I cut to size, bought at an RV repair shop. Black pvc at Lowes hardware.
4 6volt deep cell batteries. Strapped them.
